Hi

Ive looked through the faq's and trawled through the boards and appears to have answered most my questions, however i am a mon cal and im having some doubts whether this is the right species to go with as i seem to be struggling a great deal trying to fight and have to stim alot (i have master medic). I am currently at unarmed 4 and am using ubese 50% kinetic resist armour. I do recall my dosh commando having a much easier time going through unarmed.

I also read that most tk's in pve dont use armour which i ahve to as i take way too much damage.

Another question i have is i normally start a fight with my pet a grand wrix and then go in hitting however as soon as i go in i seem to get the aggro straight away , is there a different way?

Finally what attacks or specials are worth doing at unarmed 4 and tk novice ie should i warcry, intimidate or use unarmed hit or unared lunge.

Thanks for any advice

PS i am almost always solo.

TH: We won't get another chance of this, Helios.
Helios: We have no choice, General Thunderheart. Our servers can't repel lag of that magnitude.
TH: swgmod001 will have that thread down. We've got to give him more time.

With doctor buffs these days race isn't that big of an issue. Doctor buffs being they key (sounds like your going that way anyway).

As a TKA with DOC buffs, mind is yourmost importantattribute, and Mon-Cal have exceptional mind stats.

I'm a Mon Cal TKM and if I remember right, Berserk was my friend and companion until I reached Novice TK. Once Novice, you'll see a huge difference in damage as you'll finally get the cert for VK's, Unarmed 2, and start get Melee Damage Mitigation(if I remember right).

The big thing is to make sure your armor is sliced to encumbrance and learn when to use it and when not to. Since you can't special while Beserk, just armor up, Beserk, and let it do default attacks so that it doesn't drain your HAM bars.

What else profession wise are you gonna do? I had a little bit of an advantage as I had decided from the start that I was gonna be Master TKA/Master Doc so I worked my tail off to get where I could use even small buff packs. As I got up in my Doc profession, I started migrating stats to mind until I finally maxxed out my mind stats.

I hope this helps. If not, post any questions here or make a toon on Flurry and send me a tell or email to Ocek and I'll try to help in any way I can. I'm not an expert by a long shot, but, I'll do what I can.

Get better Ubese. 50% Kinetic resists isn't enough for the real baddies. Look for a 70% or better suit. Make sure it has a good low HAM. You may simply be killing yourself with your specials.

Use Doctor buffs whenever possible. A full set of decent master doc buffs and you won't have to use your stims at all.

When Doctor Buffs aren't available use food buffs. As a Mon Cal my mind stats are already pretty good, so I use Tatooine Sunburn and Ryschate (sp?) to buff my other stats. You have to re-buff every few mins but when fully buffed this combo is as good as a full set of doctor buffs.

Make good use of your specials when fighting a creature that may take you a few mins to take down. Intimidate, blind and stun will all help you lower the damage your opponent dishes out.
