I recently mastered marksman thinking to go through to commando and I'm having a time pushing my way up the unarmed tree.

My question is this,

why did you take TK, what made it interesting to you, and what are the benifits?

and, would you recomend TH or commando?

okI have multiple questions

thank you for your time.

I chose TK because I was pistoleer before and got sick of playing a profession with 90% of their specials not working.

I started TK back in September and then switch to BH. Eventually I got hooked into the holo craze and decided while I work on holocron professions I would master random professions. Just so happens that I got Bio-Engineering and needed a way to get the meat and hide. At that time my character had no type of combat skillsso I decided to pick up TKA. Now I am almost master TKA and they are changing the way you unlock the slot so,hopfully I will be able to keep TKA because I really enjoy it. I admit that it sucks working your way up to Novice TKA, but once you get there then the fun really starts.

the grind to TK Novice is a rough one. i will try to take your questions in order:

Questions 1 & 2
i took Teris Kasi because i am a martial artist in RL. i also spend2-4 hours a weekat the shooting range. so in game i LOVE the idea of playing a character that has well rounded skills. i like to draw my opponents in with a few bleed shots and then finish them unarmed. the big draw for me was the stand out difference of a martial arts combat style to all the other weapons in the game.

Question 3
the benifits are LOW during the unarmed I - IV 'grind'. i would suggest you use a pair of speed sliced Vibro Knucklers. i know the game tells you you are not certified to use them, but the speed increase in your fighting MORE than compensates for the small reduction in damage. to make the climb up the unarmed tree to unarmed IV i personally would suggest you go to Tatooine and hunt Bantha they will give you 850-900 XP per kill and are not too hard to bring down. just be sure you bring lots of healing with you. they can be found in the eastern part of the planet in abundance. one last suggestion avoid Bull Banthas and the Red Con (aggro) Banthas because they are more trouble than they are worth. stick to Dune Banthas if you can.

The benifits of the jump from Unarmed IV to Teris Kasi Novice are AMAZING!! i have played quite a few professions and i have not seen anything like the improvements in fighting like the improvements you get from Unarmed IV to those in TKN. the game goes from feeling a little like work to being additively fun.

Question IV
i've played commando with an alt in the past. i never made it to master, but i did get up to the Granadeer level of flame thrower. perhaps with a better sliced weapon, or just more patients i would have liked the class more, but even with my launcher pistol (a GREAT weapon by the way, lots of fun) it was just too slow paced for me. many may disagree, but personally i believe that TK is a better all-around class in that it is more fun to play solo as well as in groups. Commando is a powerful class, but seems to be better played in groups than played solo.

i hope all of my early-Sunday-morning rambling made some sort of sense and was at least a little helpful?

thank you all for you inputs.

I think before I commit myself to learning how to wield a flame thrower I'll try the martial arts aspect of TK
