IMO TKM will be all wookiee proffession after CU. Since once again wooks got pwned with armor, TKM will be the best proffession for Wookiee. As it is right now its hard to even find good wookiee armor, after CU it might get worse. TK will eliminate armor problems and most likely wooks will get some TK/melee bonuses post CU. So all wooks ... you will receive something from CU.

Funny, just today I was tanking a krayt in80% kinetic composite, and standing next to me helping keep the krayt off the Jedi was a.. Wookiee, and he was taking no more damage than I was. I think Wookiees are doin great now, remember, they didn't have armor for the longest time (though they PROBABLY should have had innate armor).

One thing you're not thinking about is the new armour system.
Now that all armour skins use the same cores as other armours I think we will acctuly see an increase in Wookiee & Ilthorian armours. So much more armour is now going to be custom made as the AS's can just mass produce the cores & keep crates of them for when they need to do certain types. I don't think people will pick up TKA just as they struggle to find armour.

The only difference between wookiee armor and regular armor is the way it looks. Wookiees get the same recon/battle/assault armor with the same stats that non-wookiees get, they just don't have a wide variety of styles to choose from. Same with ithorians.

Wookiees will make the best TKA anyway, because they get 3600 Health or somesuch with a pair of elite combat professions. They also start out with more health, so will find it easier to grind up.

Actually wookiees will have 3250 max health if they max out combat skills, which is actually less than ithorians who have 3300. Trandoshans have 3150 max, other species will range between 3100-2900. Don't forget that HAM secondaries will also vary by species as well, with some of the low health species having really good secondaries which will help with performing special abilities.
This is all assuming this doesn't change before the CU goes live, and these stats were extracted from TRE files, not given by developers.

Sorry to troll here with the other menions of Everquest... but ahhh, your really really really are going to have a hard time finding an Armorsmith post CuRB. We are being dumb'd down into (N)PC Crafters with one line of experimentation. What in the hell is the point of being a 12pt smith having a differentiated product line than a new smith thats a 10pter. We are all going to craft the same exact armor, with the same exact results, with the exact same skins, only to be differed by "Loot Drops." This coming from the people who wanted the game to get away from "loot drops." .... and getting the wookie armor
Your best bet for armor is to buy as much as you can now, save it, and use it sparringly post CuRB. Or just become Tkm and forget my whole post.
Ill be out at 0,0 Where us Armorsmiths, Rangers, and now Combat Medics/Docs have been deported to... /curtsey scouts too.

Instead of trolling why not contribute to the armoursmith forums & help give backing to any ideas come up instead of bringing the stuff up in other proffesions forums. It's been stated many many times that nothing in the CU is set in stone. Just as something is like it is now doesn't meen it will be that way in a week. Blix (& the rest of the Dev team) are very good at what they do & listen to feedback so give them time & see what they come up with, I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling they might come up with something.
You have to keep in mind that the devs first focus, no matter what, is to keep balance.
Also even with alot of AS's talking about packing it in, it doesn't meen an AS will deffinatly be hard to find. For every one player on the forums there is a hell of alot more ingame, & I know of quite alot of armour smiths.
I'm not saying I approve of the over simplifaction of AS, I don't, & I really do hope you get something good sorted for you guys, but I do see that balance has to come first right now, even if it does meen over simlifaction. Even if they don't get anything out in time for the CU I wouldn't be suprised if we saw some focus on you guys shortly after. As much as people believe they are, the Devs arn't thick. Just give them time instead of trolling & bringing the subject up in forums where it does not belong.

We already Have and it really hasn't made any difference. I was just trying to bring a Smith's POV to your statement.....
As far as giving them time, how much time do they bloody need, 5 years instead of 2? This Combat Upgrade should be so polished by now, we shouldn't have to beta test it and find the obvious bugs that inhibit a lot of people from evening playing it (CTD's). In it's current state, there is no feasible way this can be pushed on live servers in less than a month. Further, sense this is a "Combat Upgrade", why did there have to be such a fundamental change in the Crafting Process and not a meare reduction in the maximum stats of armor (in our case). I understand the concept of balance, but i was also led to believe from the get go this "Update" was to fix broken professions, bad specials, insane armor and buffs, and "uber" weapons.
It's funny how nearly all the Corrospondents and Blue Glowies and Veteran Players from the fields (armorsmith, scout, ranger, combat medic, medic, doctor) are up in arms and ready to bail with the "Creative Input" they have given the non-thick devs over the last year and through the private Alpha Testing of the CRUD, i mean Curb.
I urge all of you to Please TROLL our boards and give your insights, it obviously means nothing when we do it.

The Dev attention to this subject & you're feelings towards it started what? Two days ago? Things take time, code doesn't magicly come out of no where, especialy not on a weekend.
I'll say it again,I don't like that you guys are geting over simplified. But I don't believe that shouting & screaming about it is the way to go.
Anything that has been discussed in the last two years has the huge issue of it been about a differnt system. The system your looking at now is relitivly new compered to the game.
But what if they decide to leave the AS proffesion as it is in the CU now, & then when they are revamping the other proffesions make sure you guys get a much nicer deal as they feel they can really give you some attention?
The fact remains that the C in CU stands for Combat & not crafting,I really do feel for you guys that feel your geting scr*wed in other aspects of the game but, personly, I can't help but feel that Combat should be the one taking priorty here. The stuff thats going through TC-Ep3 as we speak is about having a really strong basis to work on, not about having the whole game perfect in ever detail.
I have a feeling you will see some love on this issue, but I don't know for sure, but as I say Development takes time, just give the Devs a chance. Right now TKs have a rarther important issue of all our weapons been broken, they all use 1H stats & not UA, but we're not here shouting about it, we're submiiting our bug reports & just waiting paitiently for it to be fixed. I wish it would happen faster but I know the Devs are puting 110% in to their work at the moment.
& As for me trolling the AS board, thanks but I think I'll pass, oddly enough it's very counter preductive & doesn't help anything. Exactly the same as you posting armour issue here! So on that note this needs to stop here. As much as I feel for you guys loosing stuff this is not the place to talk about it & so should it continue I will ask the mods to step in.

Well if this gets deleated, so be it, but at least you read it and know how I (and others feel).
The original post was a POV (Point of view) about wookie armors (relating to your comment).
Im sorry your getting 1hand exp instead of unarmed, but at least your not having your entire game fundamentaly change as a result of a "Combat" ,not "crafting" upgrade. Not to mention we are Losing millions of credits, time, and diversity in our field.
We shouldn't suffer to this upgrade, when our corrospondent and others, have submitted all our creative input to the devs who turned a blind eye at them. I wish you the best of luck, but I and many others are fed up. We (public) have been told too many false statements about this combat upgrade over the course of a year to hold any credit in this dev staff (the correspondents are privy to information, but also held under an NDA).

This message should be read by all who are whining about the CU right now
