Thread: TKM works with stacked def and SPIN ATTACK IS BACK JACK

Well guys with this respec we are given, I reorganized my character so that I am stacked on defense. I still have 35 skill points left for leveling though which is good. I am presently at


TKM

0010 swordsman

Master Brawler

0004 Marskman

4000 Commando

novice medic.

My CL is only 62

Which puts me at Offense: Speed 110

Accuracy 190

Defense: Melee 247

Ranged 208

My goal is to get:

TKM

Master Brawler

0004 Marksman

4000 Commando

Novice Fencer

Novice Swordsman

Novice Medic

0440 Pikeman

CL would be 73


Which puts me at Offense: Speed 110

Accuracy 190

Defense: Melee 247

Ranged 208


The best thing is that with 0300 Pikeman you get Spin Attack. That is right, u can use this to attack creatures all around with good damage. I hit 6 worts with 634 damage on the TC earlier. Now how this measures up with voritors I dont know.

The only bad thing wih this template is that it might still be ineffective when fighting mobs higher than lvl 73. But in a group it will rock. I tried out this template on the TC earlier and it seamed effective.


Iam continuing to go all out defensive stack with a couple of melee special attacks. This Inate Armor thing is Awesome. And because I dealt more damage bare fisted than with a Knuckler. I can do 1100 damage with head hit and 700-800 dam on normal hits at the DWB, where I could only get about 500 max damwith a knuckler. I am able to fight without armor or a weapon and hold my ground. I went with4 guys into the DWB yesterday without a doc and into the Weapons Facility. We had two melee and three ranged, also pets. I was tank in both locations and did not have a problem taking on any of them solo. However in the DWB we got to the ninth room, where we were all eventually incapped after camping it out for 30 mins waiting for someone. I was last to be incapped after they ganged up on me. Even though I died I had a blast.


In this group I got awesome xp which I will use toward FS. I still want to play around with it a but until I can get the most out of my defense. On top of not wearing any armor and carrying a weapon I did not have to worry about decay, which happened because of the screwed up cloning facility.


I am not really heavy into PVP and I really like melee so building up my defense is the best thing for me to do. Also I love to hunt for loot and attachments solo. So I want the best melee template for this.


In the beginning CU sucked for me, but it took some time to get use to. Now i am loving it. It does have its major bugs but I think it will work out in the long run.


Also post your template and how you plan to go using TK and whether or not for PVP use or PVE use.

If you have an opinion about my template please give it.

I noticed one downside to the spinattack ..... it's cooldown is slooooowwwwww....

I wonder how the character's speed has a factor in the cooldown. AND another thing does anybody know how to increase the unarmed speed. The best Ive got is 110 and I cant seem to get faster even with a knuckler. It seems that it is slower. I need to do a test run.

Very nice ! Good posting like this is what we need more of. People who are actually not whining about the CU and are back to good old 'temploiting


My suggestions ?? It looks damn good to me, but why Commando ? You are investing ALOT of skill points just to get to Commando 4/0/0/0. Is it really worth it ?? In my opinion you could drop all Marksman skills alltogether and invested in more Brawler defenses. Maybe a few boxes of Pike defense or something. In my opinion, you could get your base ranged and melee defense even higher if you stayed out of the Marksman tree alltogether and went pure Melee.


Just my 2 cents. Very nice work man.

Well, seeing as how they won't let me respec Master Dancer...and I spent as long grinding that as I ever have any elite combat professions.


I have TKM and Pikeman 0400 for the spin attack.


Your template though I noticed does not have two masteries in elite combat professions. I thought that to get the max health of 3k you needed two masteries AND one line from a third?


If I'm ever allowed to ditch the entertainer profession they gutted for me then I'll probably take Master Pikeman and a line of swords.

Ok Using the template I want above, if I keep Commando with 0004 marksman that will give me


melee defense- 65


Ranged defense- 55


Melee speed- 5


Melee Accuracy- 30



If I got rid of all my ranged and added Master Pikeman, 0040 Fencer, and 0010 Swordsman I would only get


melee defense- 55


Ranged defense- 20


Melee speed- 20


Melee Accuracy- 20


So basically if I went all melee I will lose defense and accuracy but gain alittle on speed. Which to me sounds wack.


That is why I decided to get that commando. It doesnt seem right to get more melee defense with a ranged than with a melee profession, but if that is how it is then I will use it. Also I can draw creatures out with a ranged weapon so I dont aggro the eniter mob.

Wow you really thought this out good !!! Kudo's man.


Your right, Commando does give slightly better defenses. But then again, all brawler gives you an extra +15 Melee speed. Hmmmm thats a tough decision !

You'll get spin attack off 2 maybe three times before a group of creatures from a lair your level incaps you.

I am also trying to make a good tank. Here's my template:


Master Tera Kasi

Master Pikeman

Master Brawler

Some Medic (0240 currently, will be less as i level up FS skills)

Force Sensitive skills


The reason i chose to master pikeman was because pikeman grants you several key bonuses including Spin attacks (only melee profession with them), defensive bonuses (always nice), and Intimidate. Intimitade is a very overlooked skill, probably because most people are unaware that its function has been changed. It now reduces the amount of damage the opponent does, and on top of that, it lasts a lot longer than the other state attacks. If used in combination with Innate Armor, Center of Being, and Dizzy (with this template you get stun, bleed, and armor break as well), you will have an opponent that misses you often, and when they do hit you they do barely any damage.


Master brawler has some very nice bonuses attached to it, specifically unarmed speed and damage. The special attack from it, Melee Assault I believe, is also worthwhile to have (if you dont wear VK's, your action bar will barely go down so using higher level specials wont hurt you).


Medic is the final key to success. If I didnt have force sensitive skills, I probably would have gone up Combat Medic 3000 to get the advanced heal, but going up 2 points in the combat medic line will grant you the basic heal. Being able to heal yourselves and others in battle is a huge advantage. Not only will enemies do less damage to you, now you can erase some of that damage.

why doesn't anyone else but me think throwing smuggler into the mix is a good idea?



Smuggler 0040 (or is it 0400?) gives +40 unarmed accuracy or so and about +20 unarmed speed! Not to even mention the fact you now have droid bombs as well as feign death as well asfactional perks if you wanna grab the smuggler 1xxx box.



The only requirements for smuggler are marksmen 0400 (pistols) and brawler 4000. we already have the brawler so we must spare 49 points to get Smuggler 0040. For all the neat advantages smugglers get (such as droid bombs, factional perks, purchasing factional points, feign death, jawa trading, slicing), the fact that it does have a column which would add (i think) a total of 30 ranged and melee defense. oh well, i guess ill be the only tkm that can slice weapons and armour, although never wears either .
