Well on test update list it was stated pvp damage would be toned down to 75% less damage in a fight coupled. To me this sounds like we are going to stay alive alot longer in order to get into range to for an unarmed hit 3 or a knocdown. Good news for me. I dont know about all of you but at master i dont use Knucklers any more so the nerf on knockdown is not bad.

Thank god for no more one hit incaps from bounty hunters.

I Couldnt find it on the list but i also heard ranged was getting more of a knockdown nerf on thier ham then us so maybe this patch is alittle positive in return?

i don't believe it's a good idea.. all it's gona do is make ranged battles longer. we still get kitted lol and all the other problems still remain.

the damage reduction is exactly what this game needed. I was sick of 1 hit incaps. We are still going to have a problem with kiters and the such. we need an actual way of catching up.

They are re-arranging the pecking order...but melee's are still last in line.

Basically...since damage is reduced Player to Player.... (but NOT Pet to Player)... CH gets stronger...and Doctors get stronger...

You have about 4 choices...

Rifleman ---> T21, sliced, +powerup = 1-shot kills still once they fix AR bonus
Pistol --> No need to comment here
CH ---> Pet gurreck still does 100% previous damage...silly.
Doctor (I'd shoot for Master medic at least in nearly all cases)

Personally I'd go for enough Rifleman to get Headshot3, and Master Medic/Novice Doctor. Then I'd build on that base template. 129 points to play with...

"CH ---> Pet gurreck still does 100% previous damage...silly."

Yea, except MCH's are only allowed a single gurreck, you still do max damage to the pet, and even with the reduction you will still do more damage then the pet. Now lets talk about silly.

I still hold out hope that they'll nerf creature damage in PvP, but if they don't I'd suggest something like:

At LEAST novice medic. Can use stim Bs at that level.
CH, Lv 4 taming to get the bad beasts
Rifleman for HS 3
Pistoleer for pistol whip
Smuggler for low blow (ranged Knockdown)

So you'll have a 64m ranged knockdown, a 9000 HAM lv2 armor pet that does full PvP damage, the potential for a 1 or 2 shot mind incap (can't stim mind damage), and pistol whip just for the rare chance that someone gets close enough to you.

ATM, if I wanted to focus solely on PvP, I wouldn't bother with brawling skills beyond the prereqs for smuggler. I have more fun in PvE generally though, so TKA is a good choice for me . Are there problems? Sure, but if we keep driving at them, I'm confident the devs will eventually listen.

So what if you can outdamage a gurreck one on one.

You still got a player shooting at you TOO.

What % of a gurrecks HAM bar will you dent before you are dead?

in previous online rpg's it was silly to even target the pet, when killing its own stopped the attack. ergo, i have two questions...

1. unless the pet is grouped with its owner, is there a way to tell the owner of a pet (w/o examine and searching for them)

2. if the owner is incapped or db'd ... what effect does it have on the pet and its actions?

**EDIT** => when killing its *owner* stopped the attack.

Speaking as a rifleman... I think the riflemen should keep their 1 hit kills... after all, that's what the point of a rifle is, isn't it?

A 1 hit kill?

I understand that this isn't real life, but the Star Wars universe has a fair degree of realism to it in its' mechanics.

Chances are if a rifleman shoots you... ANYWHERE... You aren't going to be able to get up and fire off a knockdown shot...

This is also why I think rifleman should get a knockdown shot...

With the patch ends my PvPing at all I will not do any faction missions anymore leaving myself open for attack. As a TK my only chance against marksman in PvP was using my pets after the patch forget it entirely. If I want to PvP I'll finish my other character on Intrepid.

Good point locu5. In a duel, it'd be easy to tell who's controling the beast, but in large PvP battles, who knows...
