What is the difference between Defense vs. Posture Change (Down) and Defense vs. Knockdown?

Is it that Knockdown drops you into prone, and Posture Change can involve either dropping to sitting or to prone?

Posture change forces them to change posture, but doesn't halt their fighting if they're targeting someone far away with ranged, they may thank you for posture changing them to prone! But you'll do more damage to them if they're lying down, so it's give and take. Knockdown halts their fighting for a few turns, so it's far superior, as long as HAM costs are about the same.

Blind and Posture change are great low-level unarmed skills, that can really help your abilities until you reach TKA.

Is a Knockdown considered a Posture Change? Or are they two completely different defensive skills that are both just as important?
