I felt really bad and really pissed of about Q-crackPO response to our thread, until I read the commandos

That has to be the worst marketing move, and the dumbest statement that I have ever seen in my life.
I just cannot believe someone is stupid enough to say that to the poor commandos, but O wait, this is SWG, I guess any level of stupidity is acceptable here

He didn't, he said somethings are working as planned, IE heavy weapons having low range and long recycle, and others are being fixed.
Nerf misinformation, that is whats killing the community, the game is fine and getting better.

Ok.............. That is why 99% of the forums are full of rants, people are quitting left and right, and everysingle review that SWG gets is crap, and every single fansite on the web for SWG is the exact same way, and the correspodents are cancelling their accounts.
Sure the game is getting better. Wake up and smell reality buddy.

Hello Kevin,
This letter is to inform you, that you must select a new commando
correspondent as of today. I am disheartened and severely agitated at the
lack of commitment on the part of the SOE developers to fix the commando
profession and I cannot bear to change my profession to the elite Bounty
Hunter class. No one on the TC has tested any of the commando changes with
regards to the flame thrower and heavy acid rifle, and it will be weeks
before any one can, due to the nature of the class. The minor change to the
launcher pistol is not enough to balance this class, and the lack of
response to the last 2 letters has cause me much anguish. I have played too
many mmorpgs to put up with the lack of support. Have you ever sat down and
wondered why so many combat types are Bounty Hunters and Pistoliers? And so
few are commandos? Why the dev's continue to ignore a broken class to cater
to the elite, is backwards thinking, How hard would it have been to activate
the heavy acid rifle cert 3 weeks ago, once it was brought to your
attention? If all classes were equal in development, then it would make
sense. I cannot invest any further emotions into playing a game that is bent
on introducing new content that is surely to need "adjustments" and new
"classes" when so many other classes and content are clearly broken. The new
pvp damage rules severely reduce the commando's playability in a pvp
environment, lack of true testing on the TC and beta has severely overrated
the weapons which are a laughing joke to the community, and the lack of
response from the dev's (which could have satisfied 100's if not 1000's of
players) clearly indicate the total disregard for the 2nd or 1st most
difficult class to obtain outside of the Jedi. Not to mention that grouping
is totally annoying, due to the built-in competition of team mates. The sad
thing is, You are probably totally unaware of this aspect of the game as
well.
In short, Today I cancelled my account. I was also appalled at the lack of
subscriber refund for the monthly fee. At no time in my 6 years of online
gaming have I ever encountered a sneaky policy such as this. Especially when
you consider, that the first day of registration was soo buggy, it was
impossible to read the "formal" policy. If I had been able to read it, I
would not have signed up for 6 months. So I have contacted my credit card
company, spoke with their lawyer, and they are blocking payment as of today.
I agreed that I owe SOE the regular fee of one month, and this will be paid.
The remaining charge will not. I tried speaking to a SOE CSR on this matter,
and was rudely told, "sorry, no refunds. Is there anything else I can do for
you". I view this as theft for unpaid services (the remaining 5 months).
I am like many late 20, earlier 30 year olds, who are working people, and
play for fun during the evenings. SWG was suppose to be for us, and it is
not. The built-in daily maintenance upkeep prevents a casual game play, the
lack of friendly formed groups that work together as oppose to fighting for
damage dealt to get exp is annoying, the constant soloing and broken ingame
quest are disheartening, and the totally broken class I choose to put my
emotions into is too much. Tomorrow's update will not fix enough, and after
5 months of beta testing, I've done my best to help fix the problems, but I
have failed.
I wish you luck in your game, and hope in a years time, the neglected
players of SWG are finally heard. I am sorry that this has happened.
Because I am like 10,000's of customers.. when we leave a mmorpg, its for
good, because there is always a new one. 100,000's left EQ, AC, and DAoC,
and they will never return.

That is the link to the dev's responce to the commando top 5, and I visit that forum everyday, as my friend is a commando and I watch it very closely (hes too lazy to check forums).
The commando correspondant quit before they released this info, because he got fed up waiting. Patience is a virtue. If you had any grasp of the size of this game and how difficult it is adding just one thing, you would understand why it takes a month to fix "trivial" things.
99% of these forums are full of rants, yes.
The people who post on these forums represent around 10% of the total playing community, so it means nothing.
The game is getting better, how is it getting worse? Because you can't solo red cons now? Why bother even having a level system.
Because you are getting kited by a marksman? That is how the game works. Just like wookies can't wear armor and trando's gloves etc.
Or the bugs? I have never played an online game that did not have lots of bugs. Ever played Shadowbane? The client crashed at least once a day, servers once a week on average and they still crash now and then.
When was the last time a SWG server crashed?
Then we come to my final argument, and you should really think about it. If you do not like this game, you feel the dev's are ignoring you and doing you wrong, leave.
I fail to see your logic when you come here to complain, but you still pay them money. Think about it.
O don't worry spiffy, these people will never get another penny from me.
You maybe be able to justify paying 15 dollars a month for a broken game, that has absolutely no content, no point, where all they do is nerf proffessions, elite proffessions at that, and have no respect for the people that pay their bills, and constantly thumb their noses at them.
But I cannot. The fact is this game is not getting better. People are quitting in droves. I watched the deaths of other RPG's with the whole nerf cycle. Nerfs kill RPG's.
There will always be some people that will take whatever the DEVS in this game gives them, just because this is a Star Wars game. Some people will let tyranny rule there lifes no matter what and just take it. Some people will watch a girl be raped on the side walk and do nothing about it. This is the way of the world
I own my own bussiness and have made a very good living for myself and my family. If I practiced 1/4 of the crap that SOE has pulled with this game, I would be sued, and my customers would elave me in droves for the competition. Ihave never seen a company make a dumber bussiness descision in my life.
Every single person on my friends list has quit (and my list was very large) , except for 2 people who plan on quitting when there second month is finished. This while thing is a replay of AC2 , but believe it or not has been done even more stupidly.
The only thing that is getting better about this game, is that with 20 people on a server at peak time you will have less lag. Have fun!!
Regardless of what you might think, I am far from the rabid starwars fanboi. I take each game on its merits.
Daoc was a fun game but it grew old and the thought of rerolling was a killer so I left.
Then Shadowbane came along, worst piece of code I have ever seen in my life, and it had been tested for much much longer than SWG. They split the oceanic community from the US, I live in australia and we never heard anything directly from the dev's, and the company in charge of oceana was retarded at best.
So I quit and came to SWG, it has something fresh about it in my eyes, elves and magic got boring fast, and the rules were changed. Not everything was balanced so one was a cardboard cutout of the other, and that you can mix and match professions is something I only encountered briefly in UO.
So I will have fun, because the less of your kind there is, the more fun the rest of us have =)
O yea spiffy. When my evil kind are gone, you and the other 10 people left playing on a server will just ahve a blast.

I am sorry that I try to make a game better for myself and the enjoyment of others including yourself. I am sorry that I am not a "yes sir" kid like you. I am sorry that I was upset about Enron and MCI screwing ther customers and employees while they made billions. I am sorry I tried to make wrongs right. I am sorry I don't tolerate 1/2 asshat efforts. I am sorry I demand excellence in every area of my life. Maybe one day I can aspire to be more like you and just accept 1/2 done projects, bad customer service, rude devs, and I can just learn to bend over and pick up the soap without a thought. Maybe just maybe, one day we can all be underachievers like you and just accept our lot in life without a thought. I am sorry that I cannot take broken classes with a smile. I am sorry that no matter how many stupid nerfs this game has, I just don't accept it like you. I am sorry I dont accept subpar performances. Maybe one day I can be in the Aryan race like you!!

Wow SWG will really be alot better without me. I am sure with the fanboys like you, maybe all 10 of you will open that FS and you can group up and kill some gnorts with basic attacks.
I totally feel for the commandos, and I completely agree with Garibaldi. Why? Because I was a commando for about (1) month before I finally switched to TKA today. TKA is sooooo much more easy to play than commando. I guess primarily because I didn't even have a weapon I could use, with the exception of the launcher pistol which gives pistol exp. Believe me, I and many other commandos have been following the developer responses to Garibaldi's letters very closely for the last month and have only been let down repeatedly.
Essentially, the commando is considered a secondary class, even though it's very time consuming to attain (Master Marksman + Unarmed Specialist) and commandos are generally thought to be arguably the elite fighting unit of any military - ie. expert use of heavy weapons and explosives or massive firepower to compensate for the smaller numbers. Think Navy Seals.
Obviously, this is not the case and you may make the argument that SWG does not reflect real-life. Fine. That's great. So why are Pistoleers called pistoleers? (rhetorical question) Commandos should be commando-esque, no? Meaning that they should be pretty useful in a firefight, laying down incredible suppression fire, etc. Sadly, commandos aren't even close to the Marksman with his/her one-shot-kills. Still, Ino longer care, as I've left that profession behind, cutting my losses,so goes thetruism.Maybe the devs will fix the commandos later on. Good for the commandos, if they do.
