I mastered TKA a couple of weeks ago and will never drop it. However, I do have a few questions on the finer points of TKA that I am finding most TKA's don't have consice answers to.

1) Warcry- I just have warcry1 as my template does not allow for master brawler and warcry2. It doesn't land much. The only time I get a failure system msg is when I get fat fingers and try to warcry a delayed opponent.

a) How far away should I hit the button as an enemy runs in?

b) Should I do it before or after a knockdown?

c) What can I do to increase my chances of landing it once the enemy is inside?

2) Dizzy Knockdown- An opponent on the ground aparently takes double damage. I don't see it, but I won't argue the value of having my opponent flail on the ground like an idiot while I wail at will. Several people suggested not even attempting a KD on a PC TKA as it is nearly impossible to do. I wouldn't say it's easy, but is seems worth the attempt as I get dropped all the time. Against NPC's it's a no brainer. Nightsister spellweavers are hard to kd but when you do it's over.

a) If i land a KD but no dizzy, should I use a dizzy strike, warcry, both or just be happy theyre down, and save time by going into my most damaging attacks to make the best of it.

b) If I dizzy an opponent but fail the kd, should I do a kd strike or force them to a knee forcing the same effect if they try to get up. In other words, does a posture change (unarmed lunge1 I believe) have a better chance of landing than a kd and which ones?

3) Combos and Macros- I have always been a big fan of doing my specials manually as I don't like wasting attacks when some of them have already landed. I am also looking for the most damaging special or combo. This is at the point where I have either landed the dizzy kd or have decided not to even try and want to land as much big damage as possible.

a) What is the single biggest damaging TKA attack or combo? (I spam unarmed 3 for what seems to be the best dps).

b) What is the coolest looking combo when I want to be a tool and show off on hunts with my guild?

4) Skill Tapes and Armor Attatchments-

a) What would be the ideal set of tapes and armor attachments for a tka (dream away folks).

b) I am also a master rifleman and 0040 in pistoleer. I don't feel the need for any rifle or pistol enhancements. Does that change your answer knowing that I like to hammer them at a distance first and hop saki them to death when they are stupid enough to run in?

5) Armor, Food and Spice- A broad subject, I know, but they kind of tie in together in some cases. I dream of the day of soloing a Nightsister Protector with full godly buffs and godly armor. Maybe impossible no matter what, but let's use that as a focal point.

a) Is armor worth it? If so should I go for the armor that can be put on with no food, buffs or spice or should I just go for the mac daddy 80% to everything armor (I have both) as encumberance is a nightmare no matter what? With low encumberance, I can macro my armor off after each battle and put it back on without waiting for spice cycles. My high protection stuff provides a lot more protection and may be the only answer in going after the really big game.

b) What food/drinks spices do you take with and without armor on? Without armor, I am a big fan of breath of heaven and two rychates.Without armor butbuffed, Iuse heavan and that pate stuff (mind and focus).Either way zero ham costs. With armor, I have been going back and forth to minimize my specials costs and just using hardcore mind foods (fishak and bovoli)as a bandaid when I am low to buy me time to take down my immediate enemy/enemies.

c) I hate spices. I use muon in emergency situations, but the downer is ridiculous. Sell me on it if you disagree.

My complete tmplate is as follows:

Master TKA

Master Rifle

Smuggler 0010 (feign death is my best friend)

Pistoleer 0040 (insane bonuses to def vs dizzy/kd)

Novice medic

I like to solo the big game. Sony has me so bored I am only happy when taking down the baddest creatures I can find (mostly npc's of course). I am extremely deadly in pvp. My only weakness is a pure melee fighter. They slap me silly if I don't kite them. Since I am not one of the retards that is constantly looking for a duel when they wait for a shuttle, kiting is pretty easy to do all the time. For those of you that are thinking about going master ranged, master melee, keep in mind that even though you whittle a pure melee down to a sliver, they can get that stacking warcry on you to keep you from EVER attacking when they get in close range.

Thanks in advance.

Master Hey You is here to answer your questions.

I have been a TKM since about a month after release. Allow me to share some of my wisdom I have collected.

1) warcries - Dont even try it if you dont have bio engineered enhanced clothing. for my char it costs me 200 health points, but it lands 9 out of 10 times for me so it is well worth it.

Master Hey You is here to answer your questions.

I have been a TKM since about a month after release. Allow me to share some of my wisdom I have collected.

1) warcries - Dont even try it if you dont have bio engineered enhanced clothing. for my char it costs me 200 health points, but it lands 9 out of 10 times for me so it is well worth it.

a) war cry has an effective range of 23m if the opponent is not running, if they are running, well depending on direction and server lag its hard to tell.

b) this question depends on how many you are up against, and their skill. A TK master is pretty easy to kd (only 20 kd def), but remember now adays you got a lot of brawlers stacking fencer in with tk so they can get 70KD def (and let me tell you sincei have it i rarely get kded). If you are up against a doc with dizzy packs i would say warcry after kd, it will keep em from removing dizzy and coming back at you. But normally i will warcry to keep em from getting a kd off on me, and to keep my initial damage down ( keep them from being able to hit me utnil they are on the ground)

c) i answered this above, get some bio engineered clothing for +warcry/+intimidate. Keep in mind the bonus will only help you to +25, after that point it shows up on your skills but wont really help, i suggest getting bleed def clothing after that. Talk to your local tailor .

2 on the ground they take 1.5 damage (if it is a commando with a flamer they take an additional 2.5x damage ). Like i mentioned before defense stacking is a pain now adays, but i am guilty of it myself . If they are carring a one handed sword i wouldnt waste my time with kd, or posture change. Your best bet in that instance is to warcry to delay (get a mind bleed off with rifle, and a health with your pistol), and then run around making yourself a hard target to hit. If they are zabrak ( a little insider wisdom here ) or teras kasi, get a stun shot off on them. Zabrak cannot use equalize if stunned, and tk cannot meidtate off the bleed if they are dizzy or stunded (in case you get so far off that they try to meditate it off).

a) if they hit the ground but are not dizzy, use dizzy at least 2 or 3 times and make sure they stick. In my experience i wouldnt think warcry after a kd helps vs players (they can still change posture and run, just not heal or attack). That being said i raid a lot solo, and you still run into someone that thinks a graul mauler or 3 will save them vs me. for pets (for any creature or npc for that matter) i use kd and warcry keep them on the ground an additonal 10 seconds for the damage penalty (just thought i would point out here that bleed damage over time is based on how hard the bleed hits, get em while they are down and you will see large numbers tick off of them).

b) good question, i suggest you try kd maybe once or twice more, but if that doesnt work dont bother with posture down unless you are using it as a last ditch effort (you are running and they are chasing you and you are low on health), most proffesions get a ton more posture change def than kd def. That being said in pve, and at times pvp, remember your 30 sec kd timer, if they are dizzy after a kd, but they get up use a posturechange attack to try again if you are still in your 30 second window.

3) i have 2 macro's but i could just as eaily do without one of them. The best macro ever (helps me out a ton) is a simple one that consists of "/heal self". Thats it. I can now heal my damage without changing my current target.

a) You are a master now, so ditch your vk's unless you are berserked taking out lairs. you are faster without them most likely, and the damage output / ham cost raitio on them is not very good. I laugh when another tkm in full armor with vk's duels me, they take out their own ham for me (unbuffed). Dont belive me try this experiment (i do this with my students a lot). find another tkm tell him to use armor and a vk and duel you with any move but warcry and kd (just for the experiment), then you do no special attacks during the combat. Normally they will win but you will see them at next to no health left, now imagine if you were actually using combos and were targetting their low pool . Also you may have notcied TK masters are higly resistant to unarmed hit 3 from another TK master. for everybody that says unarmed combo 2 is worthless i say fooy. If you are up against a tkm (and a TKM only) use unarmed combo 2 instead of unarmed hit 3.

b) to show off i recommend using a series of moves that look cool (my favorite is area spin2, followed by combo2 finished with unarmed hit 3).

4) skill tapes, i pvp too much i dont like teh decay type stuff, but i think you would be best off with rifle accuracy while moving, and some of the ranged def rings.

5) armor, i dont use it (except for a helmet if i am up against a BH pistolier with a tendency to spam eyeshot, even then they are kind enough to drain their action so low that i only need to land one actio hit to incap them).

a) the worth of armor, i say it is nice when tanking pve if you are helping others level and you dont want exp (this is my position i havent gained a skill since thanksgiving). But since youa re tanking you dont want to be using specials with armor on.

b) food, ahh my secret weapon, the only 3 foods you ever need (assuming you have decent stim bs and novice medic) are Fishak, veg hash, and ruby biel.

Fishak - nice mind buff, use it in conjunction with powerboost you are almost at +1k mind.

veg hash - regen for all stats, but most importantly mind, very useful, (plus they dont fill you that much you can take a few extra if you are really spamming mind cost moves)

and the good ole ruby biel- this is my secret weapon, eventually you will run into a combat medic that thinks he needs no combat skills to kill you. They will use a mind poision /disease combo on you and then wait till you get low on that pool and try to jump you. (i suggest running away on speeder or something get to safe place to meditate if you can) If you are forced to fight him with only 1 mind point, dont do it on their terms, get inside and behind a wall, make him come to you. then right as he gets up to you use a ruby biel for just endouh mind pionts to land a dizzy kd, and then just sit with 1 mind piont and wail on him (my how they whine from that).

and i keep one muon in my inventory in dire emergencies, but i only use it if i am going to be dead in 10minutes without it anyways (some people rely on it, i just wait for the down to effect them if i can ).

Well its a lot of info, hopefully when you read it, you get the information that i am thinking i placed in there. I tend to raid cities by myself quite freqently so i am used to fighting against usually 2 to 5 people by myself at a time. Good luck and congrats on master.

I solo 90% of the time also. But don't know any MDs so am not buffed.

1) Warcry seldom lands for me either. It seems to land more often if it is not the first command. intimidate1/warcry1 for example seems to work beter, atleast fotr me. Not sure of the distance, but I think it works 20-30m. But since you stop for 3-4 seconds if it sticks. I am not sure that it is all that useful as it has a high HAM costand seems to take 3-4 seconds to actually finish the animation. Stopped using it until I got master Brawler.

2) Almost always use a dizzy1/KD2 as the first 2 moves. If dizzy doesn't stick, I spam it a couple times or until it sticks. If it still doesn't stick, give up on it and stun, blind and intimidate. If you are lucky, 1 or 2 opponents will be on the ground long enough to finish off number 3. Do as much damage as you can until your HAM gets down around 15% then burst run away, heal and return.
If dizzy sticks, a KD will then also prob stick. But if they are falling down from the dizzy anyway, what's the point of wasting a KD. I use the dizzy/KD order instead of KD/dizzy.

3) I don't use macros for attacking. I have macros to equip/change weapons and armor. Because of the lag in game, it takes 2-3 seconds to change from ubese to composite as you have to insert delays or you get errors. Since you don't know if anything will stick, I have all fighting commands allocated to the toolbar. Along with stand, burst run, equip/unequip, FoW, stims, food and spices
a) UH3 animation takes too long and the HAM cost is too high for the damage. I think you get the most bang for the buck with UH2. Then attack the smallest pool when there is a noticable difference.
b) I dunno. Dizzy/KD2/UH2/combo2/UH3/warcry looks pretty cool. Warcry at the end because if it doesn't stick it's no biggy.

4) Have +14 intimidate/warcry and +17 bleed defense shirts and am looking of a belt of the same. Equip the one that is appropriate for the mob fighting. For armor attachments, anything for posture down resist, ranged defense, poison, disease and bleed resists. Get stun layers on your armor if possible especially if you are fighting Tuskins.
b) No, have almost the same combo on Bria server. Pistol 4 to bleed first then start the fight. I put the rest of the skill pts into medic though. I also have a +25wound hat.

5)creature mobs or low level NPC mobs use >70% ubese. the enc is low and it is pretty much all that you will need. Even against tuskins since most composite doesn't have a stun layer anyway. Higher level NPCs (elete/destroyer Canyon Corsairs, bloodrazors, nym's guards, etc) I have >70% composite (kinetic/electric) with 64% base.
a) Armor is DEFINATELY worth it. Could not survive most fights without it. Almost made it through the Canyon Corsair camp solo. Got caught in a tent and could not burst run away in time. And before the nerf crys come in, you can fight them one at a time. Run in so that 2 or 3 agro on you then burst run away to separate them. Stop and fight the closest one. Then dizzy/kd/warcry the second and take care of the third. Finish off the second. Watched a commando, and a Master Rifleman do the same.
b) I use Ryschate and vegasperine (2x better than veghash but alot harder to find)(not sure of the spelling) to boost secondary stats so I can wear a full suit of composite (I have a lower lvl composite that I use for mid lvlv mobs that I can wear un-buffed). I can also wear the ubese without buffs. When mind gets below 50%, I use Angerian Fishate for a mind boost. Then use Muon Gold as a last resort. Used Tat Sunburn and Neutron Pixie but found that the stims are more effective in the long run so need more mind. (please ignore the spelling mistakes)
c) I agree but muon gold REALLY comes in handy. Just have to make sure that you are out of the way for the down side. I have both powerboost and muon gold as macros with timers. "say [pb or m]1 min", "say [pb or m]done" and "say get outta there!!!"

The master rifle and the 4th box in the pistol tree gives you a HUGE advantage. Being a lizard and with almost no ranged defense, my tatics are much different. And my answers will probably reflect the racial/professional differences.

Good luck to you.

Have been TK since launch and a TKM since late July. I also seldom PvP so I am almost always tanking either for myself or others.

I agree somewhat with the poster above about the armor. It depends on your fighting style and what you fight. I wear a full suit. Took 2 shots from a Canyon Corsair Destroyer to the health bar and was incapped (after powerboost with only a helmet). Also had a nightsister spawn next to me while I was fighting another, didn't take long to die, lol. Since the armor reduces your secondaries significantly, you have to decide whether using specials is worth it. I unequip the armor usually for the first series of dizzy/kd to reduce the HAM cost.

I disagree with the VKs. Although, this arguement can go either way. I use dmg sliced VKs. When the HAM bar starts getting low and you can't use specials, the armor protects you and the VKs increase damage output while you auto attack to regen your stats. I haven't found berserk to be that much help so really can't remember when I used it last. I do agree that DO NOT equip the VKs when doing any specials. The only exception is when the mob is doing more damage to you than you would do to yourself and you need to dispatch them as quickly as possible (like just before powerboost or spice wears off).
