Thread: You know what's sad about us being perceived as being overpowered?

It's the fact that the other professions are so broken.

Think about it. The professions that basically "work" in this game are for the most part considered overpowered.

We are not overpowered. We merely work very well. With the exception of defensive acuity all of our defensive mods work and literally every single special in the TKA tree does just what the description says.

Do you realize how rare that is? Do you realize that we are one of the few combat professions that really doesn't have any glaring issues apart from COB? The fact alone that all of our specials actually work and even work AS INTENDED and do what the descriptions say is a rarity in this game. We don't have any unintended side effects with our specials and none of them are broken. For instance unarmed combo 1 doesn't cause anunintendedposture change like the carbineers action shot 2 does. The ONLY issue with our specials is unarmed combo2 shows a damage of 1 in the combat spam. That is the extent of our "broken" specials.

That's what's said. Because we basically work we are considered "overpowered".

If that's the case then Fencers are "overpowered" as well merely because their COB actually WORKS.

So by the current thinking polluting these boards Fencers need a "nerf" for no other reason that they work also.

The saddest part is if you go to the Fencer forums they are actually trying to stay silent on their new effectiveness because they fear the nerf cries.

That is truly sad. The "Your profession works therefore you need a nerf." thinking that has turned these forums into a huge pile of whining.

People also get upset when, despite their best efforts of spamming stopping shot with a krayt scatter pistol every second while standing still, I catch up, relatively unscathed (yay ranged defense) and knock them down and beat the hell out of them.

Fact of the matter, yes people see that we WORK and thus, want to nerf us because so many classes in this game don't work. They also get mad when people beat them in PvP... its worse now with the decay. I'm not very good at PvP. I don't pay close enough attention... i get too caught up in all the hodgepodge going on, but I do tend to get 2 or 3 kills before going down.... which means... I usually get 2-3 hate tells every time. Hate tells about how I'm over powered. Hate tells how I knocked them down from 15m (brawler skill)... hate tells how I'm so overpowered...

I agree with what you said. With so many people migrating to TKA SOE will be asking themselveswhy is everyone migrating to TKA or Fencer? They must be exploiting or overpowered in some way other than realizing that So many other professions are so messed up people can't take playing them even though they might like that profession.

Absolutely. It's ridiculous for the devs to nerf ANYONE. Why would you deliberatly make a class worse just because other classes are broken? Hey here's an idea. Instead of adding all kinds of NEW SHINY CONTENT, you take the next month, pick a class that's horribly, unbelievably brokenand fix them. Theclass that you fixwould praise you, as would the TKs, the BHs, the Commandos, the Fencers, pretty much everyone who's being targeted by the general population with thier nerf cries. And if that means you get to spend the next 20+ months fixingthe brokenprofessions oneat a time, then so be it. It's your own **edit** fault for diggin yourselves into a hole.

One of the most glaring things in the game once I reached TKM was actually realizing that this profession did in fact work... and was everything a profession should be.

No one line in TKA gives the bulk of benefit from having a master.

There is a noticeable improvement of skills upon mastery.

Each line in the tree is inand of itselfuseful.

Nearly every special works as advertised.

There exist sufficent "risks" for the rewards. For example 3m range, kinetic dmg only, low to non-existant defenses. (exception is with "toughness" we have the highest)

Something I would like to add to this is that most TKM's really learn how to play their profession early. For me unarmed was very difficult in the beginning. You had to really know your weaknesses, and learn how to tweak every little thing we could do to help us stay alive longer. We know that we have to control the scenario.

Allot of the ranged professions, just stand there 5m away from us and shoot. Because brawlers have never been a threat before we were fixed, they have been too lazy to ever learn how to really play their characters. Now they want to have us nerfed so they do not have to learn to play their profession and can just stand there 5m away 1 shot us with their 500 dps kryat pistols.

The professions of this game are like 32 spice fiends in the same room with a few fences. Everyone is screaming for their their fix. If you try to give everyone a little bump at the same time, nobody will be satisfied and the screaming will never end. If you single out each one really hook them up , you will slowly end the screaming. I know my turn is coming, but it still does not ease the pain of realizing I am nobody's favorite ho.
