Thread: how to avoid kiting?
/follow /lunge /KD2 /dizzy For NPC's
/follow /lunge /KD2 /warcry /intimidate For Mob's
Rinse....Repeat
target is out of range
target is out of range
target is out of range
target is out of range
target is out of range
target is out of range
target is out of range
/sigh
LOL sorry ^ that's just what I get while being kited. Annoying ain't it?
unarmedlunge works well vs npcs and, but I've found in pvp, hitting unarmedlunge at 5m I still get the above message over and over and over. It's strange...
I generally kill everything except the medics first. Then I will find a tree, rock, or structureto hide behind. This will cut off their line of site and normally cause them to come looking for me or get into melee range.
If your talking about PvP.. just hide in the cantina ![]()
If they really want to kill ya.. they have to come inside. At which point you may lay the smack down.
As a few people have said, use the terrain. Move around, duck behind anything you can - trees, rocks, whatever. Even if it appears to be waist high, if it blocks line of sight it's as good as a sixty foot wall - they still know you're on the other side but they can't shoot you. Usually the NPC will come to you, and that's the end of them.
One thing which works pretty well on NPCs (since they are quite dumb, typically) is just to run the other way and get out of their range. Half the time they'll go melee and charge you (again, they're dumb), and if not you're now out of range and can find some cover or heal quickly if you need to.
Of course if you're already fairly close to the kiter you're better off lunging to stop them for a moment, then close in and beat on them. Apparently the distance you maintain when using the /follow command on your target in combat has been cut in half, meaning /follow should now keep you in range once you get there.
