Thread: TK / CH Retarded?
I want to build up my TK and Creature Handling as an additional damage output, I'm thinking a master TK and master CH would be a very formidable damage duo...is my thinking retarded here, or would this be a decent combo?
Ideas?
I went that route awhile ago MCH + TKM, dropped MCH tho after about a week, I could kill stuff faster without the pet. If I was going to build any type template for pve it would be commando/tkm with some medic, the DOT on commando make it a really nice addition to TKM.

I find it retarded... but others love it..... ![]()
Actually with the recent pet changes and the special attacks it may not quite be so retarded as it may have been in the past. I've noticed on my MCH character my GSP's have a posture change attack.... that would be plenty usefull in PVP or catching kiters otherwise. Get a critter with intimidate or perhaps knockdown, or poisons or something....
Although I know for a fact TKA/Commando is the better combo.
I disagree with all of you cause now that you're master CH u can control a Kimogila which are Really REALLY GOOOD
Pets damage output is ok.. I mean some can hit for what? almost 700? but that's 700 kinetic damage.. halve it for wearing armor.. then figure minimum 50% kinetic resist so halve it again.. makes them pretty pointless unless they have really good specials (that are working) or poison (which doesn't seem to go off enough).
I HAVE seen a little durni pet since BE patch with like 10k ham and strong disease AND poison. Ouch. But the chance of both of those going off.. not so good I don't think.

The chance it uses poinsons and specials should be consistent now.. You may be unaware but CH's can now direct they're pets to use they're specials on command... as opposed to waiting for it to do it on it's own.

Not really true... there are plenty sucky kimo's too.
The shell of the creature is not really indicative of it's true power. If you look at the BE forums some of the most awesome pets they are making are bunny rabbits.... go figure lol....
TKA/Commando
The dmg ability of the flame dot coupled with the TKA ability to "tank". Basically if your fighting.... a kimogolia for example.... you would first try to land a flamesingle2... or perhaps a knockdown then flamesingle2. Then unequip the flame thrower.. and instead of trying to spam UH3 until it dies... just let the flame dot do it's work.... just keep trying to debuff and prevent the kimo from attacking you and missing you as much as you can..... "tanking".
In some ways it's not really that much different than a commando/ch except that your acting as your own meatshield. ![]()
In PVP
knockdown+flamesingle2 = WIN! (assuming you get within range)
Which is the biggest disadvantage to the combo. Range.
