Thread: is gaining xp easier.....
I just got TKA novice last night, and was blown away by the difference. I had read other posts from people who were excited about getting TKA novice, but until you experience it yourself, you'll never fully know. I've played a few other elite professions (although never mastered any), and obtaining TKA novice is the largest jump in combat ability that I've seen. Here's my example:
(I'm a wookie with CH 2-1-1-1 and had a lvl 22 pet helping me. I was also using Vibroknuckles, but don't remember the stats. I spent the last half of the novice grind hunting Cu Pa's on Tatooine)
Before TKA Novice
Regular hit: 87
Specials (unarmed hit, unarmed stun, etc): 170
Berzerk: 200
After TKA Novice
(*Note* I had a lot of combat xp left from my BH days, so I also got intermediate precision striking at the same time as novice TKA. This gives you +5 to melee and ranged defense, and +20 unarmed accuracy, so it shouldn't have an effect on my damage numbers)
Regular hit: 300
Specials: 500
UnarmedHit2 (which you get at TKA novice): 1000
Berzerk: Forgot to test last night
The largest boost is the +70 you get in unarmed damage. I you're using Vibroknuckles for the grind to novice, you'll see an even larger increase because you will get the VK certification also. These days I spend most of my time on Tatooine, and I'm able to kill Womp Rats with a singleUnarmedHit2. The best part is that I haven't seen a significant decrease in XP from the same mobs, either. So if you're getting down about the grind to novice, stick with it. It is definitely worth it.
gurk missions are the shizzle, once you get high enough. Each one gives you 4k freakin xp, and they're pretty easy (of course i use 80% composite). I could solo a whole "wave" of them, giving somewhere around 10-15k xp in a couple minutes (then sitting there for another 6 minutes regenerating)
I've moved on, though. I'm trying to get a good pair of VKs, so i'm soloing large nym bases (i'm at 2.1.2.2 now, the only think i can't solo on lok is a kimo--those **edit**ers) they give insane amounts of money, considering all you have to do is dizzy knockdown 2 guys (half the time you have an ally, if you're rebel), plus each mission gives about 10k xp, and NPCs drop money too)
xp isn't too great, but i don't care much at this point. I'm just trying to get rich quick (occasionally I pick up a mynock mission)
