In PVE group hunting and PVP battles and duels - what are your experiences.

I'd say for PVE TKA and Swordsman are about even. Swordsman has the great bleeds, and 2 types of damage, but tka has great accuracy, toughness, and hits super hard every second. Fencer doesn't have quite the dmg output of the other two, but is much harder to hit(also can KD/dizzy npc mobs).

For pvp i wold say fencer and TKA are about eye to eye. TKA has great damage, amazing specials, and meditation(power boost and FOW). Fencer, again, has crazy defense. These days fencers seem to be used mainly as a source of defensive mods, but in a pinch, they can whip out a stun baton and ignore most armor. (yeah, some comp has stun resistance, but never even 1/4 as good as its energy or kinetic resist) Swordsman are also pretty awesome, but require more thought that just spamming a single attack. Hit and run mind bleeds can be nasty, and against anyone but a tka, the headshots can be brutal. Also, they have some area attacks for use in big brawls that have a -chance- to cause various state changes. In a raid a lot of times a swordsman is the one to call when you need an at-st or turret dropped.

If you solo PvE much, I would take a TKM just for the meditation utility - you can heal any wounds, even mind wounds, at no cost, anywhere outside combat, and fast, and can boost yourself. You will have less downtime, and less costs, since against many opponents you don't need vibroknucklers - so no decay on weapons.

Intimidate FUBARs fencers badly.

In short no one melee class is better than another. They are different. Some need a little more love than others however *cough* pikeman....... but my feeling overall while a TKM may appear to be more powerfull.. that power is situational.

Under certain circumstances, your armor and stat migrations may be more important than your class...Really. It will literally keep you alive alot longer.

Take your pick, just depends on your playstyle. Some people are masteringall three.

Lately though I've seen alot of people who are planning one Melee skill Mastery plus Master Brawlerto round things out with some Medic also.

nice to read your post knighthawk. wish more people would read it and realize it depends on situation when fighting, on what profession benefits most.

i've done all the profs in the melee class and found different uses for each class(minus the poor pikeman class..sorry). althought i did keep one of the tiers in it. you know what, i actually enjoyed the swordsman for pve. it was so quick to level. the negative part is it's not as strong on pvp.

the fencer was pretty fun so i decided to keep it with tkm and i feel pretty good with that combo.the main point of game is to realize what each prof adds to others. when pvp time hits you want to be in a group that works well together. anyone that thinks one prof can rule all is in fantasy land.

If pikemen would just figure out what they need to use is nightsister lances..

I found one last night, health disease and mind poison on it.

Nasty.

What?

#1. Pikeman Vs. Nightsister = no bueno

#2. You can't say we havn't tried to get them ya know.

Yes they do drop great weapons and on great occasions uber weapons, but about the only thing greater than the weapons they drop for us is the rarity of these weapons.

You think when ever one is about to break, we say " i'll be right back, i have to go kill a nighsister and grab one of those 250-1000 damage LVAs really fast."?

Pikeman have toiled endlessly killing these nightsisters like the antidote was in them, and found nothing but trash.

At any on etime there are probably 5-20 pikeman weapons that could be concidered "over par", let alone Uber

Why don't yougo out and find find one , and become pikeman and show the entire pikeman forum how they were wrong and you were right, and then we can all come back and say, "oh tka wern't over powered, we were just not smart enuff to use the powerefull weapons."

And then we will have a parade for you.

I don't know much about fencers. However, TKA is an all-around better class than swordsman because of its versatility. ATKM will own anySwordsman in PvP unlessthey get warcried for 20 secs and even then the TKM stillhas a good chance. Unarmed 4 is a prerequisite to commando and smuggler. A TKM can pick up Rogue, Grenadeer, and Novice Medic. The only thing that Swordsman has is the two bleeds. I have had Grenadeer with Master CH. The flame dot damage dwarfs the sword mind bleeds. You also get 3 of them at Grenadeer.
