all you need is buffs. constitution buffs make health regen faster, stamina buff makes action regen faster, strength and quickness reduce the cost of styles for health and action. a good tera kasi template would be master tera kasi/master doctor because doctors can buff all stats except the mind ones for over 1000 if you have decent resources for crafting the enhance buffs. you would still need to have some kind of willpower and focus buff but there are foods that can raise it. also if you start as zabrak they have very high willpower and regen mind fast, but that wouldnt help if you already chose a different race i guess. my human doctor/pistoleer has 600 willpower and it regens ok but zabraks can have a lot higher

also you could be a master tera kasi/master chef and make your own food buffs.....but the doctor buffs last a lot longer that food (over one hour usually)

That's not reducing costs. That's just adding more HAM to your stats.

This is an excellent suggestion... one that I am sure will work for many people. But, in reading over the posts I tend to read repeating themes:

1) Most people do not want to be told how they have to play their character in order to make it almost viable. We are all individuals with different goals and desires.

2) TKA was not over-powered to begin with... If a person was foolish enough to let us get close then they deserved to die. But any idiot with a gun could kite me to death before the patch. Now they don't even need to run.

3) I believe that what we are asking for is fairness. I don't have to be balanced in PvP. I don't play SWG in order to participate in PvP (besides the fact that point 2 has always been true). I play to have fun.

4) This is a game. It is supposed to be fun. NOT A JOB! I want to have fun. Being gimped to the point of a wet tissue and having to find workarounds for everything I do, be it creature pets, faction pets, macros, whatever is not why I chose the TK profession. I chose it because it had style and class.

I miss the days of being able to walk out of my house and know that I am a capable, viable force in my universe because I have taken the time to become an elite profession. I am not looking for workarounds... I can find those. I am looking for a little fairness... a little balance.

Um, how bout just use lunge and dizzy? When they try to get up from kneeling they will fall if they are dizzied. And if they try to keep shooting at you while kneeling you can lunge them again and they will go prone and not be able to shoot you point blank. Or you could get master brawler like me and get unarmed lunge 2, which is a kd that will hit from 15m and only take 130 ham. Which isnt so bad considering the alternative.

Drognan01, please take a second look at what Wulfgarin wrote:

Or use dizzy+lunge? That's good... bt the real problem is that whatever we do to work around the new knockdown ham costs will either be nerfed or unnecessary.

As I see it, they can only leave our KD costs where they are, and nerf everything else - most likely including pikemen, pistoleers, brawlers (lunge, dizzy, lunge2) OR they can lower our KD costs back to where they were.

Which do you think is likely?

My guess is they will say our KD costs are where they should be, and they'll nerf all the others so they are equally unusable.

You know, it just makes me want to vomit to think master tk and near master are forced to use master brawler and novice brawler moves to be get some experience in the game post-patch.

Seriosuly, if they trult think knockdown is the great evil in this game, this was just the *start* of the major KD nerfs. Pikemen, pistoleers, BH spamming KD with cdef weapons (one bragged he can spam KD 20 times using a cdef now for 10% ham) and anything with anythign resembling knockdown depends on just how they address our knockdown concerns.

They can't simply gimp us and nobody else - we're either gonna get fixed, or knockdown is going to become unusable to all, I fear.

Keep getting exp in the meantime however you can, but I am telling you, we really have to keep fighting this nerf. If we let them leave KD costs like they are now for TK, they will nerf everything else so it's equally useless. Gonna be a WHOLE lot of unhappy people then.

Oh and you are perfectly correct - as things stand, you are going to see everyone being a zabrak something/doctor until they find a way to nerf that too.

Right now it's the min/maxers favourite combo. Best mind regen, and best species specials.

Everyone in the game that uses ham will have 900 willpower, and other stats buffed to 2000+.

As Wulfarin said though, is that what SWG is all about? Do we all want to be forced to be zabrak doctor/somethings to survive?

No way! Where's the fun?! Where's the uniqueness, the room for creativity and experimentation?

And where do we get all that from? A chef? I dont want to be a chef, why should I be a chef to be able to solo just like other classes? Bad idea. It is not a solution, it creates another problem which is "finding food or chefs".

It would solve all the problems if they would just fix us like itwas asked in our correspondents letter. All those silly work arounds do NOT work.

Master Doc, TKA, and a Zabrak. I buff myself all the time when I go out hunting. But you know what? Doesn't matter because I still get raped in the head. I've got better Focus and Willpower then the rest of the substats, and guess what! It still takes more from my mind pool then any other pool even without the buffs. So all those buffs are worthless if you take out the mind pool with just a couple KD moves.

Heh, glad you spoke up. Sort of stops me in my progression to doctor. I saw myself losing so much mind after the patch I just put my char on hold and he's currently 1/3 of the way through doctor. With the mind losses there's really not much point in continuing, except for something to do while I wait to get de-gimped.

I actually took down all my harvesters and paid off my house maintenance for a month, as I have the feeling I won't be playing him much until we hear one way or the other.

I just wish they'd tell us if we're doomed to stay gimped or not so we could cancel or change professions or whatever with a clear conscience. It's this waiting that's really making things uglier than anything else.

I have to ask what is your Mind stat? Brawler Zabraks only start with 500. Just curious if you bumped this number up at creation if you started as a brawler.

"Teras Kasi are lethal, nearly impossible to knock down or unbalance. Facing an opponent armed with ranged weapons, high-level abilities enable him or her to evade blaster fire and close in quickly, bringing his or her enemy swiftly to the ground."
