Well I'm not the most loved person right now. Foruntaely I have a nice big strong healthy ego, and I can take it. But, I did want to say one thing:

I think one of the things that has really been missing from my posts is this: compassion. What I haven't made clear enough is that I don't consider my fellow TK's the enemy. Or if I have come off hostile to them, it's been for the wrong reasons.

What I haven't said enough is that I know it has to be very frustrating and incredibly disappointing to really like a class and really want to play Teras Kasi above all else, only to feel as though your legs are getting cut out from under you but the Devs.

Most of you probably don't care, but here's a bit of trivia about me - I wanted to be a Teras Kasi from the first moment I know about the professions, its what I started working on the moment I began the game (although admittedly I've been doing a lot of other stuff to.)

There's no denying that I do see some things differently than some of you. I am by nature more of an optimist, I try to look for ways to make things work, and so when nerfs came down, I did just that. But at the same time, even if some of the venting on the boards is perhaps less than constructive, it is still probably people agressively advocating issue that are going to get things changed. Do I think there is a more successful and a less succesful way to go about that? Sure.

But the one thing I haven't done a very good job at is acknowelding that is understandable and ok that people are frustrated by the state of the class. And that yes there are very, very legitimate concerns. Is it impossible to play right now, no it isn't but I think many of you ARE right - that ship has sailed, the point has been made clear.

I'm not here to be in a war with anyone. I'm not here to search out every thread where someone vents a concern so I can counter it. I dont want to be that person. So, at this point, I'll concede that there are serious issues that need to be addressed, if you'll concede that if you are willing to make the investment, there are still ways to have FUN in this game and even - yes even -- in this line. At least we can do our best to have FUN at the same time that we work for changes.

So, I'll drop the endless posts about how I'm doing ok in the game. Instead I'll continue to post any useful data I find out of experience about how to have fun right now. Like the post I made about a good hunting I foudn on Endor, or the info about the benefits from master brawler, etc. But I am willing to let the rest slide.

As for the charges that I am self-rightoues, arrogant, and egotistical -- I am all of those things, thank you. But.. seriously... I'm also able to acknoweldge when I need to make an adjustment.

I don't want to be against all of you, I want to be with you as TK brothers, even if we don't agree on everything. So I'll do my best to drop the confrontational posts -- even when some goofball posts how using unarmed hit 2 one time without knuckles incapped him hehe.

For anyone that bothered to read all this, here's the thing I want you do remember: I'm sorry for those of you who got screwed with your pants on by the nerf. That's the point at which I've been wrong: I haven't said that enough. It wasn't fair, and I'm sure it is really, really frustrating for those of you who love your class. You definatley have my sympathy and even my support as we try to work together to fix issues.

I don't hate you, in fact I'm very impressed by your conviction and follow threw. You don't give into what you feel just because others think and say your wrong and insult you for it.

Self serving waste of space. Did you really need to write a bible sized text to say what's on your mind that 99% of the people out there don't even care for? This entire post by you is a classic cry for attention. I'm surprised you didn't put the text in bright bold yellow font. At least you've got plenty of smiley's in there.

Well honestly I wasn't expecting that from Selwynn.

And to be honest, I sort of enjoy reading a post about at least SOMEONE who enjoys the profession, even if she is a bit uninformed.

You are a TKM, Master Brawler, and a master Marksman, and because of that you have NO idea how strong the ranged professions get in comparison to us. With the fix on supression fire, we are officially the most WORTHLESS profession overall.(Without knuckles the banthas cost about 75 HAM, Using supression fire has nearly no cost). RIfleman, Pistoleer, and Carbineer ALL deal more damage than us and attack just as fast as we do. Two of the three have a better knockdown than we do, and all are able to chain specials.

If this was a game of only Teras Kasi, I don't think anyone would be bothered. People aren't so much bothered by what we have, but bothered by what we DON'T have.

But,please post away. You're the ray of sunshine on the second bleakest board on this forum(Commando being the worst).

Actually, unless it's changed. She isn't a master anything yet. Read her signiture carefully. ~_^

Psst...didn't you hear, commando's are getting a fix in 2 weeks. A great big big fix. It's why i jumped ship.

Good post, Sel. Glad to see the compassion showing through, as I really didn't see much and was wondering how you could keep kicking folks when they were posting how down they felt.

I too wanted to be tera kasi from the moment I heard about the game, and I am betting almost everyone else was too. Truth be told pre-patchI was feeling depressed as I had made master in the only profession that meant anything to me. I started and stopped about 6 new and different characters of various flavours but they just didn't seem as 'fun' as my tera kasi.

Then patch day hit. Ugh. You're right, allI saw was post after post from folks who felt robbed, cheated and abused by SOE for crippling the class they loved. Some pointed this out eloquently, and some not so eloquently, but everyone has their own voice.

As you pointed out, the crippling had many workarounds, and wasn't the end of the world. It just really cheapens the class though, to fall back on brawler moves and the like. I know it's a broken recordwith me but forcing masters or near masters to revert to novice or even masterbrawler moves to get by really cheapens the whole experience.

Plus there was the shaking of faith in SOE. If they did this to our favourite class, how long until they nerf the workarounds, or the feeling of being unable to even switch classes for fear of the new one being nerfed next patch. I know saying nasty things about the devs isn't very helpful, but it helps folks get it out of their system, and can provide for some humour as well, as evidenced by all the great fanta shokata films, hehe.

Anyway, I don't think anyone hates you, it just seemed you were *looking* for a fight or enjoyed making people feel even worse for not being able to play the game as they like - even if the old knockdown was a little powerful - folks enjoyed it. I still remember cackling with glee the first time I ran up to a poor bageraset and whomped it on the head, making it keel over. Come to think of it it was so enjoyableI spammed knockdown on the entire herd, just for the sheer joy of it, hehe.

We were the class that bonked things on the head and fell over. The proverbial cow-tipping class. I really enjoyed that aspect, and hope the devs give us our easily abused knockdown back, just to put the fun in the game.

Even my pvp pre-patch was amusing at least. If anyone was silly enough to let me sidle up to them in Bestine of the opposing force, wham, they were on their back and deathblowed, no questions asked. post-patch I have zero intention of even attempting pvp again. that part of the game is over for me. Between the new knockdown costs and the fact I'd have to land about 25 blows on someone unstyled to take them out, it just doesn't seem attractive anymore.

Guess we're all in mourning for how things used to be =) That's probably why we snapped at you when you busted up our wake for the tera kasi with cries of "but it's not dead, see?" hehe.

Keep up the good work and don't let them gang up on you. I realize you were just arguing an opposing viewpoint, but it's sort of like religion - nobody likes having it crammed down their throats and being told their views are 'wrong'.

BTW why do you post as much as those of us who aren't really actively playing anymore? Lol. You must enjoy the boards as I think the majority of us only started posting when we stopped playing.

Gutshot, I very much respect you. And I am one of those people that really enjoys reading long thoughful posts hehe.

I am a board-a-holic. I admit it. I post on scylla boards and medic boards and a lot of other places.

To clarify, I am 0/1/3/1 in Teras Kasi - my other observations at high level come from the two real life TKM's that I frequently sit right next to and play the game with. I am currently a master brawler, and I'm very close to master medic. Even though I'm not a master marksman, the guy who wrote that is still absolutely right -- I do have it easier than some of you. A lot easier. I'll remember to take that to heart. No one should be forced to take medic to be viable, but I will tell you that the medic master brawler combo has really served me well. I'd be interested to know how the TK/Doctors feel about their chosen path? I'd love to hear about those high level doctor buffs.

The only saving grace to the fact that I have a big mouth and talk a lot will be if I do it with diplomacy and compassion -- so I'm gonna remember that.

If you are 0/1/3/1(erm, didn't realise that) and your friends are only TKM, then you really can't get a good grasp of what it is we CAN'T do. I can solo kreetles and such as a TKM, which is all fine and good. Until you take into consideration that I can solo 20k missions with rifle on dathomir?

Now do you see the point? Misinformed and ignorant(as in unknowing, not stupid, don't take offense please) posting is a waste of time. And that tends to irk people?

whether or not you need to remeber "this" or that" is totally up to you...

at the end of the day this is simply an online msg board and this is simply a game...


all i am saying is try not to be so judgemental and patronizing and you wont get the flame....opinions are opinions
