Thread: Vibro Knuckler min speed effectiveness?
I see VK's that are high damage and slow speed (eg. 200, 2.2) and ones that are lower damage with high speed (eg 145, 1.5). What's the minimum speed I want? I mean, what's the lowest speed VK's I can use before the speed bottoms out and won't get any faster? Will the high damage VK's be good because the high speed ones cap out and don't go any faster than the slower pair resulting in more damage per second? Sorry for being confusing. I'm just trying to find the best pair of VK's I can.
FYI, I'm at 0/1/3/1 going for TKM so pleaselet me know what I should have now and as a Master.
Thanks,
id take speed over damage in low lvl TKA status...
did a test with 1.6 vibro 134 max damage & 2.1 168 max dam
about the same BUT the 1.6 hit faster...
its all about speed...
At master you'll have a huge speed bonus I think it's +120 or 125. With that bonus you'll hit the one second attack speed cap with 2.2 speed VK's I've noticed.
So what you want to have is the highest damage 2.2 speed VK's you can find.
Since it seems that the best VK's I've seen being sold normally are 134-140 damage and already have atleast 2.2 speed or lower,I hope to get them sliced for damage not speed.
I always buy three VK's that are the highest damage I can find and use the one thatgets the best damage slice and sell the others on the bazaar because if they become speed sliced they're worthless to my character.
The way it was explained to me, you hit the speed cap with a 2.2 speed weapon when your speed mod is 55 (2.2 * (1-0.55) = .99). At TKM you have a speed mod of 120 so the way the formula works you hit the cap regardless what the speed of your weapon is.
However, I always thought specials were slower than regular attacks. Anyone know how the speed cap applies to specials?
Not sure if this is helpful to you or not, but as a TKM I tested my speed unarmed versus armed. I had a not-even-novice-brawler punching a lair at the same time as me while I watched the combat channel. Unarmed, I would get in 4 hits to every 1 of her hits. So I put on the knucklers (2.6 delay), and I was getting 4 hits in for every 1 of her hits. So as a Teras Kasi Master, I hit at the same rate unarmed versus armed.
This is also good to know when trying to compare damage over time. Since the delay is the same, you can just look at the damage. I'll do about 50% more damage with knuckles on, but styles cost over 100% more HAM. The passive damage increase (not styling) is a good thing, since it doesn't cost you anything (other than decay of the item), so I'll leave them on when I am wearing down a rebel base, or when tearing through simple stuff like Jabba's thugs.
