I wouldn't give up my ch skills (I like my high level pets too much) but I took the meditation line to IV and it is very helpful.

Hmm good question. I was a master CH till just last week and gave it up for a more PvPable character. See you may be much different than me but one of my best pets was a lvl 36 BEed Gurreck so giving up some CH for me would have never been a problem but I always had a ranged profession to help as well. I would say if you really want TK then the meditation line or the power techniques line would be the best to go for. Alas that is just myopinion!

I mastered CH before even starting TK. I gave up all my pistol and novice marksman because I was bored with the routine I got into while I was working up BE (MBE now). So I got Brawler back and climded the unarmed tree for Novice TKA.

It's been a ton of fun but all my skill points are gone again (a normal situation for me, mastered scout and this climb up the BE tree was the 2nd time, had some ranger at one point). I'm at the top of the balance time and got 293k unarmed xp so it's time for me to decide if I should give up MCH and a couple of boxes to get more TK.

Are there any CH type TKs out there who've faced this problem? What are your thoughts on it?

TIA

Generally speaking the pets I have out most of the time range between CL40 and CL50 so losing the dual or triple ability wouldn't impact how I play much right now (I think).

I started out as brawler/tka and CH, then i realized that mobs out there are attacking me all the time and completely ignoring my pet, so i gave up tka and go for CH master. After being a master CH for months, it's getting kind of boring since it takes me 20 minutes plus to finish a lair, so i gave up CH and went for master tka. I did keep CH while grinding tka, i say pet is still useful if you have more than one mobs attacking you, you can just send pet to adds while you attack the other.

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I'm going to cap out my unarmed xp and then give up enough boxes of CH to get 2 or 3 boxes of meditate or power and 3 boxes of the right hand one which takes combat xp (capped at 170k right now).

I mean I can always get them back later on if I decide to!

I am currently TKA 0 1 4 3, Commando 0 0 4 0 and CH 4 4 0 2. I love KD and burning PVP, but I miss MCH not pulling high level pets out to get big missions solo. If you like just hunting you will love TKM and MCH. When you are buffed and wearing good armor you can do about any missions solo. I dont even use my pets on most missions. I will probably drop Commando and get back MCH.

Been a MCH, had some nice uber level 35 pets, some nice uber level 61 pets.

I dropped ch, and havent looked back. all those skill points don't equate to what you can do as a tkm with less points.

i've gone from ranger/pistoleer, to tka/mch, to a mixed brawler template.

currently tkm/blademaster, working on swordsman.

pets are a joke now, even the uber ones. drop the skill points into something that makes you more effective.

only down side is needing group to get high level missions....oh well. it's well worth the tradeoff

The dev team would never allow any kind of imbalance so that one group of people would "cut swaths" through crowds of people.
