We all know that Bounty Hunters.. for the most part.. is a Cookie Cut proffession.. you have to have Master Scout, Master Marksman, and then Bounty Hunter tree. I want to propose a new option.

Master TKA's have the skills to be Bounty Hunters, when it comes to a fight. Why not let a Master TKA take on a brand new tree, to become a bounty hunter as well. Here's what I propose.

A Master TKA, needs Master TKA, (Rifles, Pistols, or Carbines IV as well as a novice of one of them) Also needs the Hunting and Exploration trees in scout. This opens a new profession... Shadow Assassin... We know they exist in the Star Wars stories, and yet they are impossible in the game as it stands. Those who are mastered in sneaking up and killing their targets before they even know they are there...

Shadow Assasin Tree....

Master Shadow Assassin

(the ability to block the radar)

+50 Melee Dodge

+20 Assasinate

Investigation skills

(same as bounty hunter 1- 4)

Shadow TK skills

(+5, +5, +10, +20 to all TK Modifiers works on combat xp making it difficult to get)

Shadow Techniques

(sneak as a skill, making them walk very slowly and hard to detect by NPC'stil Master Skill where they are hard to see by PC's as well)

(Shadow HIde = the ability to hide in the shadows of buildings (whether shadows are on or off)

Shadow Assasin

(A set of skills set to allow a TK to do more damage withnew small weapons as well as new vibroknuckles)

This would suck up almost all skill points and would give a new way to get bounty hunter.

It needs work.. I know.. give some viewpoints of good or bad idea.. and even give some new skills that you'd like to see..but please don't flame.. I don't mean to give TK's god like powers... just enhance the game to a new level.

5 stars! Good thinking. I had completely forgot about stuff like that. I mean, look at the real Black Sun...they hired assasins left and right. People that were both extremely proficient at killing with their hands and blasters. Take, for example, Prince Xizor, the one time leader of Black Sun - he was something along the lines of a TKM.

Yes, I wholeheartedly CONCUR.

JediMasterZero.. nothing you want to add?.. any ideas to make it better... if we can balance this out ourselves.. it'd make it easier to implement for the devs.

Well, I'd have to think about it.As that class, we'd need much better abilites with a dagger or something. Maybe something like throwing daggers...which we would of course be able to reclaim off the bodies of our fallen victims. Let me think about it some more, and do some research. But yes, definitely an Assassin class would be awesome. We could even go so far as to have our own terminals (similar to bounty hunters), for someone like Jabba (or other crime leaders) to take out political people or something. Or perhaps just give the newAssassin class access to the BH terminals. There's a lot we can do with this...and add some new flavor to TK.

my thoughts were to just let the new Assassin class access the old bounty terminals... having the same rules and guidelines as the bounty hunters.. However an Assassin terminal especially for assassins by crime lords would be sweet.

"Jabba the Hutt requests that you, as an Assassin take this mission. If you are discovered and killed, you will of course not get paid. This must be done quickly and precisely. You have 45 minutes to get it done."

I could see great roleplaying opportunities with this

Don't get me wrong this is a cool idea and I am not flaming. But BH used to require master brawler master marksman to get but too many people complained it was unbalancing. This was during beta. So I highly doubt the devs will let it happen. That and there would be alot of P.O.ed BH's out there.

My suggestion isn't to make a new bounty hunter proffession... but to make a whole new proffession which can do bounty hunter missions.. with my proposed system, a Bounty Hunter could take out a Shadow Assassin easily... since they will have only One novice ranged skill.. where as a Bounty Hunter Master has technically 6 different kinds of weapons... including Heavy Powered weapons.

My system isn't unbalanced, and if it is.. it is in the fact that the Shadow Assassin will be using every single skill point to get Master Shadow Assassin where as a bounty hunter only uses most of theirs.

Master TK is a lot harder than Master brawler or Master Scout.. it's almost as hard as Master BH on it's own.. with the new skills for Shadow Assassin, the Shadow Assassin Master slot will be very difficult to get, and we'll have more people doing bounty missions for the Player missions which will be going in.. and at a certain point... Jedi Missions for the Shadow Asssassins... It also makes the TKA skill what it should be... Jedi Hunters...

if it's unbalanced, balance it, don't give up on the idea of it.

In it's current state, the bounty hunter profession is nothing pvp. I could go on for hours the reasons why, if you don't think I know what I am talking about check my sig. If this were to be implemented the Shadow Assassin would be far superior to any BH and make BH as we know it obsolete. Yes BH get 4 different weapon types but the skills BH get for them are usless. The only skill really worth a damn is carbines. Any TKA with some brains can waste a BH with no problems. The TKA wouldn't even need to have another profession in their template. Check out BH defenses they are nothing. My point is this is a good idea, but if implemented BH would have to be brought up to par with this profession. I know what you're proposing uses all skill points, but take 33 skill points and see what you can do with them. Not a whole lot, either pick up some med skills or some pistoleer or carbineer. Again not a flame I like the general idea but it needs alot of polishing.

Probably a better implimentation would be to copy the BH concept, replace Marksman with Brawler, and rebuild the weapons appropriatly. Leave the basic concept the same so you have the same dance to a new tune.

errrrmmm....I can't see the difference there. Unless you meant to say that your suggestion isn't to alter the existing BH profession, but rather allow you to take BH missions without dropping TKM.

I am not going to get into that argument, I have a great deal of trouble dealing with TKM myself, but I am not a particularly competent PvPer (working on it). I need to see things for myself as most threads between professions usually end up as "you are uber...no, *you* are uber...nooo, you are uber" and no real information is contained within them

*edit entry* - btw, which 6 weapons? I count - rifle, carbines, pistols, LLC - thats 4 weapons, or have I forgotten some?? *end edit*

You jest. Surely you jest. TKM almost as hard to do as MBH? - no way. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to sound elitist at all, but my toon on Tarquinas is currently levelling up as a Teri Kasi Master / Master Droid Engineer and a bit of smuggler. Levelling up the TK skills is simply a matter of Ubese+buffs+savage quenkers for a couple of days. Gettin to MBH on my Eclipse toon, well, that was much, muchharder.

I can see your point to the post though, the way BH has been implemented does mean that all BH are almost identical, 33 points left over does not allow for a great deal of dabbling (although my template of MBH/Brawler 0004 certainly confuses people - I mean who wouldsuspect that apprentice pikeman of carrying a Jedi bounty[1]).

What I would have liked to have seen was a bounty hunter skill tree that required mastery in two elite combat professions - any two elite combat professions, or even simply that xx number of skill points have been used in combat professions.

The actual BH skill trees would then all revolve around investigations xp, covering droid usage, maybe some elements of humanoid tracking and trapping, and sone form of gadget line[2].

[1] errr....D'oh!

[2] I am at work at the moment, when I get home I will have a stab at putting a tree together
