Greetings All,
I'm planning on switching my combat skills from BH to TKA. The main question I have is that I would like to go without armor for RP reasons. I never do PvP only PvE. Is it possible to be effective as a TKM and not wear armor?

Yes, you can as long as you stick to things that aren't doign ranged attacks. Get yourself some clothing attachments with stat mods and buff use food. I would try to avoid some of the really hard hitters but, back when my wookie was a tkm, we never had armor and i was able to hold my own well.

I guess I could also have mentioned that I'm a CH too, so I have my meat armor available. Plus my alt is a Master Doctor so buffs are free. My brother is going up the ranks working for BH, and we'll be hunting together.

Depends on what your fighting and what you want to accomplish. you won't be dropping krayt or kimo without armor nor running around the geo caves very well either. But, you can take out rancors, ST's and many other things as well.

You will have trouble with the big stuff, but you can take most things as a TK when you get the unarmed toughness and good buffs...I would at least get some nice Imp Shield Generators. They are the only energy protection I need as my ubese barely has any...

I don't have much problem with my TKA much when it comes to PVE wearing no armour. Keep in mind though, I have my clothing maxed out with stat prots(bleed and wound treatment[my TKA is also a Master Doc]) and with skill attachments. I really only have problems when I try to tank Krayts or other big game...at which point, I switch to armour(which is also maxed on attachments) and go to town

The armor issue really depends on what types of creatures you are going to be fighting against. Like the others have said, if you are going into the Geno Caves, hunting krayts, etc you are going to need armor. If you killing Stormtroopers (or Rebels) you don't want to be wearing armor because they are so stinking easy and all the armor will do is drain your stats. If you fighting something and don't know if you should wear armor, just go with out and see if they start pounding you. Thats what i did in Nym's stronghold and found out, yes, I did need my 90% kinetic armor (yes, my base stats were only 54%, soi still got poundedfairly well)for 50 nym guards shooting at me at once, and i have no ranged metigation
Hope this was helpful.

you'll be able to take out most anything so long as you're buffed and do your best to not get mobbed by 30 crazed geonosians =p

Isn't that why we were given our spin attacks

Thanks for all the info, my favorite place to hunt is the Tusken Fort. Since most of that is close quarters combat I would expect a melee profession to do better than a ranged (in theory). I still have my 80% Composite and BE Graul if needed.
