Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you would be interested in posting your favorite PVP Techniques with TKM. I am a TKM, I love the Profession, and recently started using it for PVP. I quickly noticed that I was severely gimped when it came to fighting against ranged professions of any kind. KD works, breifly, even w/dizzy. I find that using Unarmed Head Hit 1 works alright but when you get kited, you basically screwed and you can only burst run once lol.

My Comp armor is 80% kinetic, like 72% everything else. I get full Doc/Dancer/Musician buffs, 2 brandy's, canape, and Pikatta Pie to start. But more often than not, i get owned badly.

Please help me out guys!

I really like TKM. Is Unarmed Mind hit in conjunction with Dizzy/KD the best combo available for TK's?

I intimidate to start, then dizzy them, then spam knockdown.

First rule of TKM PvP. Don't run after ranged people. Find a nice little house and sit behind it till they come to you. I'm a triple master and even with the ranged mitigation, I hide. Without master brawler I only have a 15m range.

Second rule, lunge is your best friend. It should pause them long enough to get within range of you're kd2,at which point they're screwed, even if they get up quick you can still run after them, and lunge em again. Then when they try to get up from lunge, they fall don due to dizzy.

Third rule. Adapt. If you're alone, spam uh3. If it's not working too well, clear queue and spam head hit (after kd/dizzy). If you're with a fencer, spam uh3. Rifleman, head hit. Unbuffed? unequip vk when doing specials, re-equip when auto-hitting.

Intimidate is a great skill too. I and a Mpolitician/Mrifleman took out a dark jedi master 'cause it couldn't hurt me with my buffs and intimidate on it constantly.

I usually use fencer for pvp but when i do use tkm it goes something like this
Intimidate
intimidate agian (if it dont work)usually sticks the second time if not the first
blind and stun (till they stick usually on the first time)
dizzy (till it sticks)
if they try to kite u lunge at them
when they are kd use unarmedcombo2 (it works good in pvp)

Lather rinse repeat. i still usually get owned though.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a macro I use for Center Of Being. Do you guys set up a similar macro for Intimidate?

So heres what I got:

1. /intimidate

2. (/lunge if running from you)

3. KD/Dizzy

4. Spam UH3 or Mindhit 1 depending on the circumstance

Thanks guys If anyone else has anything to add, please feel free

Ok, so after carefully reading all that input, Heres what I got now:

1. Intimidate (till it sticks)

2. Lunge (if kiting)

3. KD/Dizzy when within range

4. Stun and Blind states (Knock back down if back up by then lol);

5. and depending on the situation, spam UH3/Mindhit/UnarmedCombo2

Remembering to keep them intimidated the entire time.

Is it helpful to set up an autofollow on the target?

Thanks everyone

The most important thing i look for is if they are wearing a helmet or not. Most people are going to have armour similar to yours and tkm's major flaw is that we only have 1 damage type. If they are wearing a helmet, use intimidate and stun (lowers defences)then get them on the floor and also land a dizzy hit to keep them on the floor. Now you can try to plug at away them with uh3 and hope you can wipe out their health bar before they get a chance to stand up and heal it. With the armour around at the moment this is your best chance for success against such an opponent.

Should your opponent not be wearing a helmet then you're home dry. Dont waste time with intimidate on this occassion, simply dizzy/kd to get the extra damage bonus and use unarmedheadhit1 repeatedly. The lack of armour combined with the kd multiplier and armour piercing on your vk's results in a very quick death. Lunge is a great move to use in either situation because it gives you that extra edge, slowing down the kiters enough so you can get in close and destroy them.

Also make a macro for Center of Being and keep it running while you fight. This keep your defences at a high throughout the entire battle.

Macro name: CoB

/centerOfBeing;

/pause 32;

/macro CoB;

Thank you very much Tepic. And thanks to everyone else who offered some input. It looks like I'll need a target dummy to practice some of this stuff so I can be ready for next time. Also wouldn't hurt if i had another complimenting profession i guess.

If anyone has any other tips please feel free to post em

somthing I noticed people didn't elaborate on very much, Stun State! it's the only thing that will let you kill a fencer/other defense stacker. Stun significently reduces all (that I know of) of your targets defences. not sure how it all works but trust me it does.

One thing id like to add... /unarmedcombo2 works extremely well in pvp because it negates your target's unarmed toughness.... it's currently the only way to kill a defense force master as there toughness is so high. The reason it is so good is that in the combat log it shows as 1 damage, but in realtime the multiple hits all do above that, without factoring in toughness, its like doing an extra 50% more damage to most melee classes.
