Thread: My Idea Of What TKA should be like

Hey


Me and my guild were talking about TKA and the role of the profession as a whole in the game and we came up with an idea of how to revamp TKA.


TKA in EU were a clan of people who trained to use their body andspiritual energy as a weapon. They then watched over the Jedi Order, any jedi or dark jedi that caused trouble lets say killed aninnocent person for no reason or a light and dark jedi engaged in a fight in a crowded area where lots of people will get hurt then TKA would step in and "end" the problem. Granted it took more then 1 TKA to kill a Jedi Knight. So my idea is to make TKA a bit more specialized.


TKAs will advance upthebrawler/TKA treejust like they do right now then when they reach TKM a whole series of quests, much like what the new jedi unlock system will be like. This quests take a a few months to do then you will be in the TKAOrder and you will watch over jedi. They will get missions from NPCs todelivery stuff and so on as they progress up a ranking system sort of. Then when they reach a certain level then they get missions on rogue Jedi, kind of like BH, the jedi are eithera Jedi who is causing lots of death and destruction,or PvP alot who are basically getting to strong so something must be done. So we get must intervene to try and stop him. As i said before TKA were powerful but they couldn't take a Jedi on 1 v 1 so it would take a few TKA like a groupof 10 or 20 to do this. If they succeeded then the jedi would loss skills I was thinking down to about padawan or jedi knight but he would loose all his position in the Council and his ranking.


Seeing how Jedi are alot more powerful in pub 9 this should help Balance the game a bit.


In the TKA Council you will recieve more advanced skills and a new type of weapon and maybe armor such as the weave that deactivates lightsabers at the top levels of the council.


The new weapon I am thinking of adding is a Glove/Gauntlet type weapon


A robotic glove that if you have the right chips you can pick that type of damage you want your hits to deliver, such as Stun orElectricity. Everything but lightsaber.The gloves are untradeable and the chips a one use only thing. Lets say you get the chips both from hunting random NPCs and from theme parks. Example, Jabba's pet rancor say has an acid chip in its stomach so to make Jabba angry enough to feed you to it you have to first complete jabba's theme park, then complete a theme park of another faction that is totally opposite Jabba's, then you fight the rancor by yourself and if you kill it you get the chip. If you fail you have to redo Jabba's part of the two theme parks again. This will make them hard to get, a bit repetitive, and will make you want to beat him the first time.


Then you add the chips to your glove and they have them forever so whenyou get more then one chip, to change damage type you selectthe glove in your inventoryand use a radial menu option and a window much like picking tickets. You make chips and gloves untradeable because they fitted for your character and it will stop low level TKAs from using them. I havn't been able to decide a damage range yet because of combat rebalance. And at the point where you have a fully upgraded Gauntlet and all the new moves you should have spent all your skill points but have enough left over to get a novice in something as to hide your true i dentity.


This would make TKA a extremely fun and exciting profession. Will add some real TKA history, as well as it will be something very mature people might want to do instead of the game favorite jedi.And to stopwhiningit takes a few months to earn these things. Becuase it is set up so that whenyou become a TKM you are reallyjust learning the karate moves but when you join the clan and take up the professionthen you will become something really fun to play.I like this idea and it adds an important role to TKA which is the reason the order was created in the first place.


Besides everyone else gets a revamp why not us


please post ideas or changes because i know this isnt a perfect idea.

/lol it is true, ppl don't read the tka forums anymore. you'd figure there are SO many of us, yet no one cares to input on what should be added, or fixed, all the post we have is, "tka should be nerfed....."


Its a neat idea really, but pretty unrealistic. I would personally love to have all the stuff you mentioned, but giving TKA the ability to choose dmg type, new armor will cry more nerfs in this game. And the TKA council idea will just get responses like "why not a commando council...why not a...". It would add story and depth to the game, but right now the devs are worried about balancing, fixing, adding new dungeons and jetpacks that seem to require rare loot only to be destroyed in pvp. For TKA its really all about not fighting mobs w/ high kinetic resists because we are NOT as strong as the majority of the public thinks we are. We are actually very balanced and i feel that the other professions should come on par to us, not us on par to them.


Some ideas regarding your post and some ideas of my and that of my guild's.


Because ppl grind professions in a matter of hours or days, and ppl would beTKA master w/ the gloves and running your council missions,my solution to this would beto have a certain dungeon only to those of a certain profession could enter and undertake.(also depending on how long the person has been a mtka).That way, it would be somewhat rare and somewhat more balanced and kept the loot withing the profession intended. Sort of the Mandolorian Armor Dungeon right now.


For Example:


Jedi Crystal Cave: (also something our guild was discussing)


Clone Wars Cartoon; The episode: the planet w/ the crystal cave that jedi go to craft their sabers. It'd be neat to have a place where only jedi could go to loot some crystals, or (enable a mando crafting feature : where they can harvest a crystal depending on level and skill of jedi). The crystal caves on dantooine could be a choice place. Given that BH's could camp the cave outside, that'd be a chance jedi would be willing to take in order to get crystals.


Idea of implementing and regulating the council members:


Something like that could decide the members of the council you speak of, ex) council member tells you to go a retreat a certain loot, several times. different loot (NPC). You come back and you prove yourself worthy of the position on the board. But then again the devs could program these certain dungeons to not favor the professions that enter the cave. In this case, enable the cave so that only TKA can enter, but the mobs in there have 80%-90% kinetic resists. Thus forcing you to fight as a team, and earn your place on your council. Once on the council you would have to do some other tasks to keep you on the council, or just make it an accomplishement, or badge.

hehe true...



i like those ideas if only the game wasnt so messe dup hehe.... i find TKA a balance prof that works fine but it just gets boring after you a master a while so this would add some content at master. thats what this game really needs more content once u hit master besides the strongest attack of that class that you just spam..... the cave idea is good and it would keep the gloves rear and more group driven like the gaem was in the first few months. As the to the glove and thigns. it would take liek 6-9 months before u can chose all damage types and the new armor thing i wouldnt really add becuase i hear armor is gona suck after combat rebalance... i would rather have gloves and some of the attacks that TKA have in EU. and commandos are fighters.... in EU TKA are supposed to be Jedi without the Force so a council or some type of organization would be a must.

Sounds like fun but probably more complex than the devs want to deal with right now. A simpler version would be to have the profession trainers give out quests appropriate to each level, for people like me who like to play rather than grind. The rewards for these quests should go along the lines of TK robe schematics, special VK's, maybe some kind of meditation crystal etc. The quests should have a good storyline to go with them, and like you suggested, there should be a lot of difficult ones saved up for masters. Maybe even a badge or two...has defeated (big boss guy) in honorable combat...has studied the peko peko style with (wise master guy. ) Though I think every profession could benefit from this kind of treatment.

I agree with all of what u said. I also think the tka should be able to embark on special quests after master that would require a lot of time, and effort moreso than grouping, and would endow them with special moves and abilities, like a 5 minute boost to damage that could be used once every hour, or the ability to cure bleeding through meditation without going into a meditative trance... theres soo many moves and abilities the dev's could include that would be simple, and rewarding. They could also add these moves and abilities to all the classes so TKA isnt the only one id also like to see a TKA temple somewhere on either endor or yavin that is the only place you can learn TKA as we are supposed to be a secret order. check my bio for more info on TKA in the EU and gl

But great points it would make all the profs and the game itself far more interesting. and i just remembered trandos couldnt wear gloves to make them like claws or something hehe

Jedi are supposed to be good but not good enough to beat Death watchby themselves, in ep two jango killed a jedi easily. Maybe a Jedi Master but not a knight.

You Be the TK you wanna be ill be the TK i wanna be you dont need to go tell people how to be a TK or how they should act u can RPG the game or u can go normal makes no differance just make sure you have fun. on all my proffs in the forums people have said you should be like this or like this i tell them no ill play how i like

So essentailly what you are saying is that a Jedi "supposed to be the strongest and most capable being's in the StarWars reality" are watched over by TKM's......I am sorry I really dont see that happening. As I recall the "Jedi Order" watchs over the Republic. You dont "over see"the "overseer" I do like the idea of some specialized weapons though. But the "watching over" part is exteremely far fetched. We need to see some more balance in SWG. It's not everyday when you see a Chef with some gun skills own a trained killer.
