from a company gain standpoint,is itreally worth the game loseing (what seems like) half or more of its population and therefore income?
and then from a dev standpoint this is gona balence the game?
I've seen every kind of combat proff kill every other kind of combat proff so its not the proffesions fault.. its more the player and how he uses it.
Once it goes live the damage will be done, even if they take it out most of the players that wanted to leave will have.
Im not sure if im leaving yet, but from what i gather fromthe anti CU website(s) quite a few are.
i guess what i mean is:
Is turing the CU live really worth what harm it could do to the game vs changeing things up?
The Cu is saposta make group vs group funner and longer... but if the population takes a hit group vs group will be smaller anyway....
anyone help me out ? do i stay or leave?

As a veteran player from other games, you'll find that the people that are leaving will either eventually come back or they are giving these ultimatums and then never follow through.
That's the trend from other games, it'll be no different here.
It's just a freaking game, people need to grow up.

Really? Just looking around at the people I know, I see at least a dozen cancelled accounts. EVERYONE I know in "real life" that plays the game has cancelled their accounts, all based on CU experiences. All of them tried out Test on my recomendation -- until they tried it, they were quite excited.
The only thing that will lure them back is, basically, yanking out the CU and redoing it the RIGHT way -- the way it was supposed to be done in the first place. Those concept docs weren't just pretty pictures, they were a roadmap that was tossed aside back in December in favor of this monstrosity.
On the bright side, I understand PvP is a blast -- too bad 80% of the game does not play PvP and has no interest in it.

They dropped 58000 subscriptions since testing started. Get your facts straight. http://www.mmogchart.com/

Last time something like this happened around one year ago. We lost everyone in my player city as accounts were cancelled and remaining time ran out. By July the city fell. There is now 5-6 houses left half are mine and one person pops in every few months for a week and then leaves.
At least 20 people left at that time who I had on friends list and have not returned. 15 of those people had multiple accounts. I have stayed away from joining another guild (All guild members, left guild fell also) and player city for the same reasons. I wont join and make friends to have them leave in 6 months.
History repeats itself over and over here. People do leave and never return. Those who state its all a bluff haven't played on my server it seems.
List me in the leaving catagory, My main account runs dry in 5 months but I will be gone before that. I will not be back. Nor will I ever sign up with SOE again for any game no matter what the title.
The words Loyalty, Integrity, Morals, Ethics, Character, Respect, Honesty, Customer Service, and Intelligence are in need of being hung on the walls of the SOE empire with definitions underneath them.
They have lost a Loyal Customer who stayed long after all his friends left.

I think yourmath should be checked more closely. According to the charts, you linked to, the top number of subscribers is about 60,000. Now if 58000 people canceled their accounts, you telling me THAT ONLY 2000 PEOPLE ARE PLAYING. Total bull. And to top that off you provided charts that haven't been updated since July '04, nearly 1 year of open data. So "get your facts straight." If you cant prove any bit of true in your numbers then lay off the devs.
