Thread: What about Terrain Negotiation for Teras Kasi Artists?
I think Teras Kasi Artists should get some kind of a terrain negotiation boost. Combat medics got a boost so that they can move around battles and heal people, even though they don't have to be close because of ranged healing; so why can'tTKA get a boost to move around battles quicker so that they can actually fightthe enemy before they take on too much damage. I feel that TKA need a boost in order to get to the mobs that are attacking them in time. I'm a wookiee, so I don't have any armor. I get hit 3 or 4 times running to an attacking enemy before I actually get to them. This can lead to 300 to 400 (if not more) damage before I even inniate an attack on an enemy. That does not leave too much ham left in order to fight off the attack, especially with ham costs. And sometimes the attacker runs from me when I finally get there, so I'm getting hit even more before I eventually catch up to them again.
I'm not petitioning lower ham costs here though, I'm petitioning some kind of a boost in terrain negotiation. I would put it at the master level so not just every Joe Schmoe with novice TK will become faster. And for all of you thinking why I don't just go up the exploration skill tree to get my character faster, I don't have any skill points left being a master doctor also. It's a great combination...would be even better if I could get to the enemy/dying friend in time.
Sure, and just make the Squad Leader profession that much more useless. I am a TKA/SL and it is frustrating that they gave Combat Medics terrain navigation, effectively the removing our group bonus forthat profession (this group terrain bonus is one of the only working Squad Leader abilities, by the way). If you keep giving people free terrain navigation, you may as well delete SL from the profession list.
As much as I want everybody to have a decent chance at moving up a hill without have snails past them, it probably won't change.
My thoughts on this are that they should just come up with a "General Skills" tree where anybody can get them with the appropriate experience. This tree could include something like a Med Use: 5, Varying levels of Terrain Negotiation, etc. The reason for this is would be to allow general use of very general skills without having to sink 15 skill points into a profession. In this case, maybe it would be 5 skill points to pick up med use: 5 and nothing else. . .maybe a total of 10 skill points to get terrain negotiation around 50.
If this happens, I think that there should be something to fill the gap left by some of those skill points thus enhancing the other profession.

I think we're powerful enough already. If you want terrain negotiation get scout. But I think what would really fix the problem is:
1. the heavier ur armor and weapon, the slower u run.
2.make novice brawler a +5 speed and master brawler a +10 speed
you know what i really liked bout EQ, the fact that the higher level your toon was the faster he moved over terrain. Kinda miss that now, but the way i see it. There's 2 kinds of tka thinkers;
1-tka's should be fast and agile, so they can catch that kiter
2-tka's will be as fast if not slower than everyone else in the game. And you shouldn't be chasing after kiters if they are outside of 16m anyways.
besides, in pve we will get mounts soon so i can bare walking up a hill sideways.
i have to agree that it's a benefit for skill credits and to get it you gotta spend the skill credits. i had to train medic skills to use a stimpack. i didn't like doing it. but we all get the same amount of points.
better terrain negotiation would be handy but not necesscary. the simplest answer is to give TKMs some sort of 'tackle' that could be used while chasing someone. it could work like a knockdown, or at least trip them up for a second and give us a chance to catch up. i understand there is a tradeoff for the power, but i could probably chase a NPC stormtrooper all the way across the map if his blaster didn't get me first.
