Ok we were at one time a very feared profession. However recently on my server I have seen a large increase in the pistoleer/fencer population. The two of these professions combined makes out to be an easy TK killer.

I did some experiments with a friend that is a Fencer Pistoleer: here are my discoveries.

Dodge bonuses for fencer/pistoleer stack causing TK unable to hit said target most of the time.

CoB can be used, then switch to a pistol, since pistoleers dodge is for pistol the CoB stays along with the dodge stack = Me and my atst couldn't hit my friend at all.... 0 until Cob Wore off, then we could hit at a very rare rate.

Currently one pistoleer, smuggler, Fencer can take on massive odds due to the stacking of bonuses along with Last Ditch and pistoleer speed.

Versus just a normal Fencer 2/2/0/2 Their CoB caused me to hit them about 40 percent of the time.

Coming from someonw who is a Blademaster and dabbled into Pistoleer, I dodge just as much without out pistoldodge bonusas I did when I tried it out..

This is something devs need to test on their own, but im almost possitive the most you can gain is a +25 bonus from eather weapon your using..

TKA just need to realize they have no reason to believe they should be the King of bralwers..I think its about time some melee classes are able to go toe to toe with unarmed ...

But dont you just love how Pistoleers get so many proffesions that have stackable skills...

And how many xp did that Fencer have to spend to become what he is?

How many xp did *you* spend?

This game was *made* to mix and match professions.

Enough said.

if xp spent really meant something then a master BH should be "the best of the best"

not quite true at all.

That's not what I said at all.

There is no one single "best of the best" - nor should there be. Each profession has particular strengths and weaknesses. BH being offense - I've been one shot by BH at least twice. I didn't complain- I tried and change my tactics (and ultimately my char) to become more effective.

You want to be a melee god? Pick up Master Brawler and other melee defense lines. These are the people who will be 'winnning' the duels, consistently. The ones who have carefully assessed their strengths and weaknesses, and combined other skills to compliment them.

You are wrong if you think master brawler and all the defensive lines is what wins duels.. as I just stated a master pistoller master fencer (not master brawler) will easily take any melee profession in a duel.

I am a Master TK, Master brawler and have the defensive tree in pikeman and twohanded swordsman. That didn't matter, though I did dodge once lol. So the Fencer/Pistoleer is the 'best of the best'.

YEY for fencers.... I really hope you are the best of the best because i am perfectly happy with the way that TKM is at the moment (except for the unaddresed CoB issues, does or doen't it work how its suppost to.)

HORRAY, everyone, HURRY, help me spread the work of how great fencers are so everyone will jump on the uber train to fencerville. Maybe then we won't have to worry aboutUS getting that nerf that were all antiapating to happen any day now due to people complaining and the brawler corrispondant

In the EU, Teras Kasiis the only discipline that could stand up to the Jedi. They were the people who would keep the Jedi at bay, because instead of drawing from the force, they draw in from the sheer force of will to perform. With that in mind, the idea that someone with a metal sword could beat a person living a discipline as Teras Kasi ruins the entire point of the story.

However, this isonly a game. I don't see why a master of a profession couldn't kill a master of another profession. But if yall TKA's are losing to fencer/pistoleers, perhaps you should re-think your strategy.

Actually what Kali is saying is true. If someone has mastered 2 complementary professions, they will be very hard to beat.

Pistol/Fencer/smuggler pistol is a VERY strong mix, that has spent almost all their skill Points on COMBAT skills. They will be very tough.

Rifle/TKA is another very tough combo, but not as good defensively due to Defensive Acuity not doing anything. On the other hand, it is much more powerful offensively.

Carbine/Pike is a combo for masochist (sorry guys) since both professions still need some Dev love.

Rifle or Carbiine /sword is the best offensive combo, with weaker defensive skills.

Any of these combos is very tough, in part because the player has dedicated their character to be a combat only character. Now for some math:

BH = 140 skillpoints in COMBAT skills (217 total, with 77 in Scouting)

double Master elite = 184 skillpoints in COMBAT skills

dbl Master + 1 Def line = 218 COMBAT skillpoints

It is not the total skillpoints spent, if so every character would be the same at 250. Combat effectiveness is based on the number of skillpoints spent on COMBAT professions.

There are 2 other factors that are just as important. Are the combat skills complementary to each other, and how good is the player at using their skills. It is not JUST about skillpoints.

The whole TKA-Jedi Watcher thing is NOT from the EU.

That is something that fans made up for roleplaying stuff.

It has never appeared in ANY novelorLucas authorizedEU source material (Encyclopbedias, PnP guides, etc)

LOL SO anyway how bout them fencer/pistoleers.... I hear there a kick ass combo... the new "BEST OF THE BEST". the hell with TKM, fencer/pistoleer is the shiznit... Time to bust out that sword you uber l33t people and leave the TKA profession...

But to be serious, im actually happy that fencers cango toe to toe withTKM because personaly Ithink that its unfair how underpowered all the other melee professions are... hopfully the other melee professions will follow next and we can all have kick arse melee combat duals and see who is the better player rather than who is the more powerfull profession.

I understand the complimentary professions thing.. however rifleman/TK or most any combo is different then 2 classes whose bonuses stack... compliment = fine, stack = flavor of the day.

BTW off topic I believe I missed when we became overpowered.... due to the current lockup bug I'm having (along with ALOT of other players) did we become overpowered within the last 2 days? cuz I missed it.
