Sorry I think my post was misunderstood by the majority of the people who replied. What I'm suggesting in essence is not to make the class more powerful, but to change the name of it and keep it the way it is. You don't have to be called "Teras Kasi Artist" to have all the powers we have. As of now, its more realistic to call us "Unarmed Specialists" or even "Kung-Fu Super Doods". Every other profession in the game has a name that has no storyline implications with the exception of Bounty Hunter. Pikeman, Swordsman, Fencer, Rifleman, Combat Medic, Politian, Doctor, etc...all of them are simply their name. The name "Teras Kasi Artist" doesn't have any literal interpretation which is what originally interested me. I took a look at it and thought it must be something cool if it doesn't have a simple name. I checked it out and found that it was cool. However, in reguards to the name, I knew nothing as to why it was called what it was. Then I found out through several more Star Wars educated players what it means. After finding this out, I became dissappointed with what we are in comparison to what the TKA are supposed to be. I like my profession and what it does but I don't think we should be called "Teras Kasi Artists."

If there were to be TKA in the game I think it should be a very difficult class to achieve like Bounty Hunter. Mastering the Bounty Hunter profession requires almost all of your skillpoints and more time/effort than any other profession besides jedi. Anyone who was playing when the game was first released would remember that BH was the most sought-after profession of them all (at first) and not because they were the most effective in combat. On the contrary, a Pistoleer could defeat most bounty hunters as could a creature handler and a few other professions. Nonetheless people worked day after day toward being a master bounty hunter because they felt it was the most interesting. The same for Jedi...Some people had to master out 10 or more professions for their FS slot. Why did they seek these things out? The professions they sought had a stronger flavor than all the other professions. I've read a lot of people write that this game lacks content. My previous post was a suggestion to add some content using the pre-existing Teras Kasi profession. I don't think they should take it away competely but at least change the name of the current TKA to something different. Most of the professions in this game have no storyline implications. As an MMORPG this one has become typical. SWG has a unique skill/experience system, a unique economy system, it has a system that allows us to build towns and houses and create items and ride vehicles. But unique systems and game balance are not what will seperate this MMORPG from the rest. The Star Wars universe has so much potential storyline for this dev. team to work with. Unless something is done to make this game more roleplaying based it will have the same fate as any other MMORPG. People will have fun at first, then become addicted, then they'll search for ways to be the most effective "this and that", then they'll get bored but they'll keep playing because they're addicted, then the addiction wears off and they're off to another MMORPG with "more potential" (?). One idea I have is to hire dedicated roleplayers to "act out" NPC interactions with players so that the players will get more involved. It has been done before in other MMORPGs, but when combined with the Star Wars storyline it can have some massive effects on the way players play the game and the reasons why they play. Any opinionated replies to this post are welcome.

I read your post a few times but don't really see a need for a name change. I could agree that in order to get a TKM tag would be at a high cost like MBH is but in my opinion all profs should be that way. Would add alot of diversity and would balnce thing considerably. BUt thats my opinion and I am sure people have there arguments but I am content with the skill point cost as it is. Anyone who grinded tka without uber buffs great brandy and high kinetic resist can say it was difficult. Was it as hard as BH, no but you earn the tag just the same. Now it takes a few days at most if you have the right equipment and buffs. This game is obviously a work in progress and in the coming month maybe 6 or so, tka will live up to what you expect that name to mean. But I think we should wait until after jedi and combat revamp to see the new changes before we consider oursleves no better then unarmed specialists or super kung-fu doods. Right now I think we are a little better then a title like those grant us. jmot
