I just recently got to TKA Novice today. I started working on it, and mastered unarmed before the patch. So, the main question here is, what exactly is TKA good for now?

I have a friend who is a Novice Heavy Swordsman, no other skills, only novice. He does 3 or 4 times the dmg I do, and takes the same ammount, or less dmg. So, again, what the hell is TKA good for??? We do less dmg than other melee, we can't use special attacks without killing ourselves....with or without knucklers. Just somebody tell me the advantages,...or even a reason to pursue TKA Master? Fencers get great defense and good speed, Swordsmen get insane damage, Pikemen get.......well, they get sticks I guess,....but they're lame so who cares? What does TKA get??

I think that knockdown should be removed from PvP completely, but PLEASE keep it in PvE PLEASE, thats the only way we would have the slightest advantage by being TKA. Removebleeding and poison from PvP too,.....but I guess that would suck for everybody to have to fight fair.

hard to even change your class because it would suck to work towards something else and as you are getting your skill its nerfed to hell. So changed to swordsman and by the time u get there its nerfed

In a nut shell, we are the weakest combat class in the game....besides maybe pikeman. I hope this will change one day, if not, then who cares? I'll be dropping this game as soon as another high-end mmorpg comes out. So, I guess I'll just stay at novice tka for a while,......might finish up the pistoleer tree until they fix tka.

Well, from what I can tell fencers get good attacks and bleed styles, targeting the health pool. They are also especially fond of humanoid targets which they dizzy and 1hlunge1 to make fall over and stay down for easy pickings. Tks can do this too, of course. We just haven't had to rely on it with knockdown in the past.

2h swordsmen get good attacks and bleed attacks targetting the mind pool. 2h also gets area posture down attacks that they seem to enjoy spamming regurlarly.

Polearm - can't tell if they get a bleed attack, but they get knockdown.

TK - we get a lot of debuffs, and can target any pool once we get master precision (think it's precision - the combat experience tree). However, the bread and butter of the class has always been the knockdowns.

The other melees hate us/mock usas knockdown makes killing easier for us. Fencers freely admit they outdamage us and swing just as fast as us at upper levels of ability. 2h admit they outdamage us, and happily solo multiple mobs at once using their area posture down attack, bleeds and attacks to the head.. There aren't enough polearmsmen even discussing things for me to guess if they outdamage us or not.

I personally believe that knockdown was the cornerstone to our profession. I don't like being so reliant on it that folks accuse us of doing nothing but spamming knockdown, but it was the best tool in our arsenal. We don't get bleeds like fencers or 2h swordsmen. Polearms get knockdown like us, and I think they even get an area knockdown as well.

So, what are tk good at *now*? I am sorry to say but there doesn't seem to be an answer to that question. Fencers say they outdamage us, and I take them at their word. They also have bleed moves. 2h outdamages us handily, according to most 2h swordsmen. They also have stackable bleed styles that hit the mind pool. Polearms have always had knockdown, but am not sure if they get a bleed style, and am not sure of their damage, as they are a quiet bunch.

At the moment, we have been relegated to the bottom of the melee pecking order. Want balance? Give us a some stacking bleed styles that target only one pool like fencer or 2h swordsmen. The class we most resemble atm is fencer, except they do more damage and have bleeds. Either that, or give us knockdown back at a reasonable ham cost. It was the defining move in the game as it stood. Just taking it away (by makign the ham costs prohibitive) without replacing it with anything has left most of us feeling crippled, confused and angry.
