Please refer to this thread on Raph's view of thr TKA. Basically he says the TKA is just a martial artist with meditative skills. Therefore, they did not envision them as they are seen in the EU (i.e. Jedi Hunters).

Hehe that thread is kind of funny. Especially all the lamers who try to hijack it for their own ends.

TKA really should have been an elite-elite profession, or at least require a lot more experience than other professions. Adhering to the Star Wars universe should be the most important design factor, but the current incarnation would make that much power too easy to get.
