Thread: Brawler and TKA Question

Hey,

I am finally on my 120k XP journey to get TKA Novice from the brawler tree. This is a....long process at best, and I had a few questions I hope some people can help me with.

1. When I get to TKA novice, does /meditate even work? I mean will I be able to heal some of my wounds?

2. Right now my primary offense in winning battles is berserk1 - I know I receive a ton of damage, but so far it's my only way to win most battles I encounter (even against nightspiders, to help with the damage reduction I seem to get without berserk1). Is berserk1 always going to be necessary for me? I mean how long do I need to wait until I can move onto something else without almost totally killing myself off?

3. I notice a lot of people are going medic as well as TKA. To be honest, I really really don't want to go medic, but if it's the only way to survive then I may have no choice. Is medic required for being a TKA? I would rather go ranger instead, but *shrug*

4. I notice right now that I can defeat a few bigger character...so far almost no NPC characters. Will this improve? I don't like attacking at 80-100 all the time lol. Seems like forever in battles, hence why I use berserk, and at least I can hit for about 200 or so.

5. Is there something good, at my level, that I can take without worrying too much about dying? I'll probably continue on rori to finish up my XP since it seems to be the fastest way so far, but maybe something else, on rori to look for, that will break the time I'm spending killing nightspiders? Oh, is there a better place for nightspiders than rori? I like rori, don't get me wrong, but I killed about a billion things on rori, there were dead bodies of animals all over the place...I need a different look lol.

Thanks

From my experiences....

1. Meditate is usefull for stopping bleeding, but you'd better hope you start bleeding early in the fight and your opponent goes down quickly because it can take some time to stop bleeding. I have seen no healing of my wounds while meditating but that may come with time.... I have not bothered getting my meditation skill branch yet (I'm 0 1 2 1)

2. I stopped using berserk when they increased the HAM cost and I can't tell a difference in performance. Although I was hitting for more damage while berserk, you also start hitting more quickly with TKA. I think it equals out ok. It would be niceto be able use berserk as well, but that's the way the nerf ball bounces.

3. I'm not medic either, although I did get novice so I can heal myself some. Often, I do have to do a quick heal during a fight so long as my mind pool is good. I do think that advancing in the doctor skills would make TKA much easier, I just haven't taken the time. Perhaps someone else can let us know if it is productive.

4. Once you get TKA novice, NPCs start getting into your "can do" list.

5. I'm on Tattooine, easily take down scykks now, and enjoy a good fight with rogue banthas and dune lizards. Mostly, though, I climb the trees at Fort Tusken. Each tusken can give you 1000 to 3000 XP, depending on now many others are fighting the same one.

Hope that helps.

You were saying that the HAM costs of using berserk is too high. It's like 83 points for me...which yeah is a bit high when I fail 3 times trying to initiate it, but so far it's been my only lifesaver, lol. Maybe i'm just fighting too easy of stuff at this point?

basically meditation is useless until you hit 4... and then it totally rocks at master. At IV you heal10-20 wounds every 5seconds. At master you heal 20-30 every 5 seconds.

before that all it is good for is slowing the occasional bleed or poison.

How should one begin leveling up in TKA. By the way it looks by the XP required, it looks like pure heck to get leveled even one level. I'm right now fighting the easiest stuff to get 125k, and i'm only 10k in Sure is a long process, lol. I like the meditation though, the effects anyways, because it seems like I get way too many wounds in battle. If I can't even heal myself thoug, then ugh....level 4 is like 1 million XP away, lmao. Is it worth going for that first? Or should one go another route first? What's the best to keep me alive the longest in battle, not so worried about hitting the strongest, just want to live longer

hmmm... it seemed like it was using up more for me, but maybe not, I tried it a couple of times and each time a large chunk disappeared so I quit, could have been coincidentally occuring with a damage hit, who knows. I will say that it was getting more aggravating even using beserk, sometimes failing 4 times in a row, even as TKA novice, that really gets annoying and shouldn't happen. That's one change I'd like to see, how can I possibly be "too calm" when surrounded by sand people? LOL

I'm climbing the power line first, I think hitting more frequently and with more power will make it easier to climb the others. Then again, if I climbed the meditation line, being able to heal quickly would be nice, but if it isn't very effective until IV, then I'm not so sure that way would be a wise choice first. I'm thinking of taking on meditation after I finish the power line.
