I'm a ranged guy who's going with a brawler class for the first time with one of my alts... TK in this case.Just wanted to get some advice from those here who have done the class for awhile about where the best place is to level my char -- i.e. best places for high XP creatures with low kinetic resists.

Also curious to see a "quick list" from a few of you as to which specials you use the most and which ones aren't worth using.

Thanks!

Best thing I found was to use Unarmed Spin Attack on lairs and just keep spinning until everything is dead. You have to have buffs and at least Kinetic Resist armor though.

On Naboo Tusk Cats are good, netting 3.8k+ xp per kill and another 3-4k fpr the lair.

On Endor I always go for Hanadaks and Bluurgs, as well as Borgles and Robas (stay away from the birds unless you want to switch to a ranged weapon to finish them off as they do run).

I prefer to just roam around Endor, I like the way the planet looks and most of the creatures there are fairly easy and you get xp fast.

As far as moves, I use Unarmed Hit and Unarmed Combo when I am not using a Spin Attack, and that is about it unless I am fighting humanoids, at which point my tactics change greatly...

Great advice..thank you. I should have asked one other question.. I'm considering creating a primarily TK bounty hunter character.. only with Invest3 and all other skill points invested in TK (leaves me 0/4/4/4 TKA). As you've probably figured out, I'm thinking of hunting jedi with this template as an experiment.. something different to try out, anyways. Does 0/4/4/4 sound like the best choice, and what combos do you lead in with in PvP and what tactics do you find effective in combat? Sorry for all the questions but as I said, I'm a brawler n00b and am hoping to shorten my PvP learning curve a tad.

Btw, if anyone has questions on BH, I'd be happy to reciprocate! =)

An interesting Template for sure

In any type of Humanoid encounter (I won't say PvP because I don't do much there except duels) I generally lead in with Low Blow (ranged KD) and hope to close in fast enough to land a Dizzy and Lunge on the Opponent (NPCs are easy because I can just run up and use KD & Dizzy from TKA, but people tend to run more than NPCs).

After that it depends on how their Stats are. I'll use Unarmed Hit 3 for sheer damage output, but if a pool is low I'll definitely target it exclusively. The opening attacks are normally easiest to come up with, but the others will depend on the situation.

Meditation is great, but you won't have any use for it while actually in combat, so 0-4-4-4 would probably be the best choice. The other problem you will encounter is the inability to heal yourself in combat while your opponent can, and if that happens you will most likely lose the fight. A lot of people scoff at getting Novice Medic, but sometimes even a 200 point heal can change the tide of a battle...

Get high-kinetic armor. Get Vibroknucklers ASAP built for speed and slice'em. Probably will need 3 or 4 before all is said and done. Get 99%+ weapon & armor repair tools. Stock up on melee weapon power-ups. Several hundred!. 16% speed+. Always keep VKs powererd up.

Get H&A buffs. Use 380 or bettter Brandy as needed with Muon Gold for emergencies. Also Canapes ,Synthsteaks , and perhaps WonTon for the food line.

Take on white, yellow and red critters. Put unarmed hit1, hit2, or hit3 (as soon as earned) in a 1-second paused repeating macro. Go solo since working with a partner is nice for socializing but slows down overall progress. Daantooine probably has the best selection of critters. Stay away from poisoners and diseasers until you have Meditation 4 so you can heal yourself, or carry a med droid and meds so you can heal yourself in the field.

Get to Power 4 skill box first, then Meditation 4, then work up the Balance branch. Pick up Precision boxes as XP permits. Keep close to vehicle so you can speed away if you get into a pinch. Use Coronet as a base since central to all the good planets and has excellent Cantina for BF solutions and Doc Buffs in front of starport. Theed does great too, with no wait time for outbound travel.

Armour - Ubese Helm and Jacket is all you need. Leggings help a little. Don't need boots, gloves or bracers.

Buffs - +2k doc buffs to all stats....and +400 BE Brandy

VK's - Go buy around 6 2.2 speed VK's and get them sliced. You should have at least one decent speed slice...and a decent damage slice. If you can by some pre-sliced ones on a vendor that's fine too. Use the speed sliced on until around Power 3 or 4. Then used Damage sliced from there on out.

MOB progression in order of difficulty... Quenkers --> Savage Quenkers --> Hurrton Stalkers ---> Enraged Rancors. Once you can efficiently handle 5 of these at once (kill them fast)...move to the next harder MOB. If you can handle multiple Enraged Rancors you are probably a box or two from Master.

You should be grouped pulling level 75 or higher missions to get 15 MOB's per spawn.

I personally carried over enough Combat XP to get HeadHit1 fast....and I used that a bunch. KD1, KD2, Hit2, Spin2, and HeadHit1 is what I basically used to Master.

Pretty much whatever way you go...XP is going to fly. I mastered the 4 elite brawlers this publish...and for me TKA was definately the fastest.

Once you get to novice TKA, get buffs(including dancer/musician if you can), a crate of brandy, a good set of Ubese, and move to Dantooine for a few days Start with savage quenker missions and go straight up the power tree.

Once you hit power 3 or power 4, do the following: get four of the highest level creature lairs you can get, make sure you are buffed and have your ubese, then run(not ride your vehicle) to each of the lairs and kill anything that moves. Once you finish the lairs, run back, again attacking anything you see(except other people's mission lairs of course), get two more missions and repeat. If you have medic skills, go up balance next, if you don't, go up meditate.

Last night I tagged along to help one of my good friends on Test Center. We both had buffs, brandy, and 73% resist ubese. Unless things got a little iffy(like 10+ voritors...they are a pain now on test because they spit again =/ ) I let her to all the killing.

In 6 to 7hours( 3 sets of 2500ish buffs and master musician/dancer buffs), she earned 2 million unarmed xp using the method I described up above(only it was 4 missions with there being two of us and we didn't bother running back for more) and went from 2242 to Master TKM

Once you hit novice, don a full suit of ubese, head to the smuggler outpost on endor and drive the 1700m to the Jinda Ritualist Cave - unarmed spin attack 1 (and 2 once you earn it) will earn you amazing exp there. I'd advise you to get pharm 4 and some good stim Ds for doing this as they regularly hit armour holes and kd/dizzy at times, but this place is the best zone I've found to level up all my melee professions.
