Thread: Questions about TKA
- What exactly can you meditate away? Poison, disease? Anyone have a definitive list?
- What percentage increase in HAM recovery do you get during meditate?
- What meditate boxes give you what abilities? (eg: Box 1 gives you poison cure) If each box only provides a quicker ability to cure certain things, what percentage are we talking about? (eg: Box 1 lets you cure disease 20% faster)
- What's the best combo for fighting Defilers in Dathomir? KD2/insert combos here?
- Which specials target which HAM bars? I know Head Hit obviously does Mind on the enemy, but what about Leg Hit, the "Unarmed Combo x", etc? Normally I'm getting my teeth kicked in while I try the various specials so I'm unsure which does what HAM bar.
- What exactly is "Unarmed Toughness"? What's it do?
- Ditto with "Combat Equilibrium" - this prevents dizzy?
- at mastermeditation - disease, poison, bleeding, wounds
- i don't really notice any increase at all from sitting down, nothing visible at least
- the abilities granted are powerboost at box2 (self buff ability, it's great)- and forceofwill at box4 (a piece of crap worthless parody of ability)
- to me, intimidate, kd2, and spam unarmed3 works great on them (without knucklers)
- thoughness is a % of melee damage reduction that applies when you are using unarmed and fighting a target that is using melee. Should be a straight % reduction of damage (50 unarmed meaning 50% less damage from melee)
Ok I'm not new to the game at all, but I'm going for tka now, because I want to learn the medatate tree. It took me so long to get my unarmed 4 for commando, and now I'm trying to get lots more xp than that, but I don't no whats the best things to fight, because I always die really fast because I'm a wook n don't have armor. If anyone knows a planet or animal I shuld hunt, or any other tips, please tell me, btw i jus sold bak all my ch after they changed it so i cant use my merek anymore which would make it easier.
First and foremost, get buffed. This is key to getting TK Novice (well unless you want one hell ofa headache).
Also, get yourself a speed sliced vibroknuckler that's decent. While you may lose damage since you don't gain the certification until TK Novice, the speed still goes into effect.
Next, buy some melee powerups foryour new VK that subtract 33% mind costs. This means you'll be able to spam more specials without waiting on your mind to come back first.
If you don't have any medic skills, get some, and buy a crate of Stim B's. This will help.
However, before you start, if you really want to get TK Novice, I suggest first attaining Novice Pistoleer, simply because you have Health Shot 1 and Health Shot 2 (I will explain in a moment why these are nice).
I personally hunted Huurtons (not huurton howlers, matrons or huntresses) on Dantooine to get my TK Novice, as they yield about 1.7k exp each if you are grouped and like 4k for the lair or something like that. If you go prone, you get 5 shots before the creatures aggro onto you.
This is where Health Shot 1 and Health Shot 2 come in handy. The Healthshots are Dots (in case you don't know) that stack. If you are prone when you fire both of them, not only do you get more chances to land them if you miss, but the mob won't aggro you until he gets bled for the first time, giving you a significant advantage.
If you aren't familiar with the Health Shots, then this next section will help, but if you are familiar with them, then skip through. Health Shots deal damage fired from your pistol, but they don't actually count towards pistol exp. They count towards what ever exp you hit it with. So if you ONLY hit them with HS (healthshot) 1 and 2 from your pistol then punch the thing to death, you still get full unarmed exp.
Now, if you want to go all out, like I did (I was getting this line anyways), then get Dirty Fighting 1 at least. This is a cheap move, because you lie there while the suckers bleed to death and they think you're dead too, then you stand up and punch em once and they die. This is attained with the Feign Death Skill. If you incorporate this into the move from above, you have a deadly combination with minimal risk. See, HS can't actually KILL the mob, because bleeds don't do that, but it CAN take it down to 1 hp meaning a Correllian Butterfly could tap it with its left wing and it would die.
I won't lie to you, getting TK Novice sucks. It takes time and it's a pain in the butt either way. But, as TK Master I do like 2500-3000 dps on KD'd creatures (combined with warcry, works nicely as they stay down for 10 seconds). So if the creature is KD'd for 10 seconds, and I do 2.5-3k damage per second, you do the math on how much I do by the time he stands up ![]()
I hope this helped, and good luck to you with your adventures with the Teras Kasi profession ![]()
I've been running Savage Quenker missions on Dantooine, and was wondering if there is something else I should be hunting to make leveling faster. I have access to full buffs, 74%kin Ubese armor, and a 1.5 speed VK.
Another question I have is - Can you wield 2 VK's at once?
Thanks,
Brad of Bria
Quenkers and Pikets seem to be the main choices for gaining experience, although Tusk Cats and Huurtons have been good for me.
No, at this point no one can dual-wield anything, but it is known that Pistoleers and Fencers will definitely be getting Dual-wielding capabilities. We can only hope that we will also get that benefit, as it would make sense.
well i did tka in 2 days doing Giant Baz nitches on Dathomir. you can get them as solo missions (11k per mission). they give 4-5k xp depending on your lvl... more as you go up the tree. 2 mobs per pop, 3 pops per lair (if you count the ones already spawned when you get there). 6 mobs x 4.5(average) = 27k xp + 5k for the lair = 32k xp per lair, 2 missions at a time roughly 64k per run, and i stop at every insect hill i see along the way to kill gaping spiders, 4.5k per kill aswell and more mobs per lair. i net 100k-125k per run with extra stops and each run takes about a half hour. this is by fat the best way ive seen to master any and all professions that pretain to combat. just make sure you got buffs and you will run through just about anything... intimidate is your friend. with buffs i dont use armor so wear and tear isnt an issue. if you're a doc it helps, but make sure you also have brandy and mg.
