Hey all.

I am 2-4-4-4 Doc. I will be Master Doc in a day, easy. I am 0-0-0-0 TKA and looking to hunt something large, for cash and for decent xp. I can buff to get xp, but at this point, my money is too low to get the items & factory for high end stims.

So, can I even consider Rancors & such with buffs & 75% Ubese, VKs, and brandy? Should I stick to quenkers (though I hate them, leveled on them with my pistoleer)?

Thanks for any help...

Get buffs/buff yourself and go to Dant.

Anything you can get a mission for there (minus Lesser Bols) is worth the time. I got up to 0-1-2-1 off of Quenkers and Huurtons. Then just leveled up randomly (made master doc as well ). Recently went back, got Power 4 and Balance 2 (currently 2-2-4-2) in about an hour of doing Janta missions. I don't really think you should go for Janta's until you have at least KD1 and Dizzy, they run at you, dizzy and kd, dizzy and kd, dizzy and kd, kill them as fast as possible and move on.

Quenkers and huurtons are anywhere from 5-8k or so (I think), Janta's (if yo think you can handle em later) are 27k, but you'll need a solo group to get the missions.

Sorry, didn't read the second paragraph...

You could hunt Rancors, but don't do it alone, I don't think you could pull them and you'd probably get slaughtered... I did some rancors with my guild, gave me about 3k xp (when I was 2-1-3-1), dunno if you'd get more or less xp than me.

I'm going to go with a totally different approach here, and say go to tatooine and hunt squills as part of a group I made my first few levels of TKA pretty fast this way, and there was back up incase things went bad (which they occasionally did when the muon ran out).

If you start your own group you can decide who comes along, and just dont invite any other TKM or high lvl peeps everything will prolly be fine as long as you can tank them, which is easy with 70% kin Ubese and even pretty crappy buffs (I buffed myself as I was Doc).

Providing there aren't any masters in the group you should make some really good XP from mountain squills, iirc I was getting around 2k from each, the money you make won't be up to much (missions are only 10k) but when you make xx4x you can easily solo enraged rancors.

tbh I found it quite disapointing how easy everything got after a few TKA levels.

Worry about making money when you hit TKM, 36k missions in around 1 minute

You could try rancors...but there is no need. As a novice you are capped on the amount of xp you will get. I did Huurton and Huurton matrons and quenkers on Dantooine since they do not death blow until I got balance 1 and meditate 2 then I went for Crystal Snakes on yavin, since they do not deathblow and with meditate 2 you can heal poison shoot up the power tree all the way to 4, then work on meditate and balance because at this point you will be doing alot of damage. remember though you will still be capped on xp...but at 2142 you can take on rancors pretty easily with good kinetic resistant armor.

Whatever you do, do NOT hunt quenkers. One of the changes in publish 8 was giving quenkers twice the ham (7.6k HAM still isn't that big of a deal though), and a RANGED attack. Being that it isn't kinetic, your Ubese armor will do nothing against it. Quenkers were the best for lower end TKA but now it's pretty much impossible unless you have composite (and my friend who wears composite said his armor dropped down thousands of points of condition from just one mission). Quenkers are pretty much useless now - Pikets WOULD be a good dant creature to kill but unfortunately because of their 40% kinetic resists, they are only easy to kill once you get up to at least Power 4. Right now, I have no idea what would be effective for TKA grinding.

Rancors are a poor choice mainly because of their HAM and resists and your current low damage output. If I were in your position, I would head to Yavin or Endor, get missions and group a pet and leave him by the mission terminals. Head out to your missions and hit the lair, then spin attack until everything is dead. You'll get massive amounts of xp pretty quickly. Just go right up the power column if you want to finish TK as fast as possible. With your Ubese and Buffs you'll have no problem.

Do mountain worts and dewbacks till your 011 then go do tuskens until you get bored with KD/Dizzy 1 you can solo warlords easy and get 4500 xp

squills is a good idea also but on my server at least that cave is allways full of retards that walk up and attack stuff you already have half dead.

Dant is the fastest I get 2 missions run to each kill everything on the way, mastered it in 3 days.

I recommend do this training wise

get 011-

then 014-

then 214-

244-

I did most of mine on Corellia hunting Sharnaffs. I found only the bulls to group attack. Join a group with a bunch of other lowbie fighters. Get some decent brandy, gulp 2 lots, eat some Thakitillo, SynthSteakand Air cake and with a decent buff, you'll be flying.

GL btw. TKM is wicked, even if it's just to look at. Pity we still dont have any other type of damage available to us and the new Razor VK is gonna be so freakin' expensive, if available at all to purchase, just won't be a viable option.

all this info aside, the bottom line is that huurtons are your best bet. if you factored in frequency of spawn times ease of kill times amount of xp per kill nothing would touch huurtons. don't forget to harvest the hide too.

huurtons are found EVERYWHERE on dant. and since they aggro you don't have to walk or run them down. if i recall, and its been awhile, they may run away.... but generally they spawn in largish numbers and spinattack2 (i don't recall when you get that) leaves a nice ring of corpses around you when you're done.

currently I'm 0133 doing Mokk's but for you I reccomend Rori. Go to Narmle and take the Tortom missions. Now there's 3 different kinds, tattered tortons (really easy, decent XP, don't group aggro), shallow tortons (a bit harder, decent XP, don;t group aggro), and tortons (which are a bit harder, around 3000+ xp each). The tortons do group aggro but only 2 spawn at a time and with some uebesse and buffs you'll be fine. Be sure to group with something, a pet, droid, anything to get the group XP bonus. A torton lair can give you 22,822 XP each lair and it doesn't take that long. So you could one of your first trees in just 7 lairs!!
