This all happened on tatooine ( aggros anyone? )

There were no buildings close enough for me to run around/inside.

I'm not a CH ( oh no, no pets )

I'm1-0-0-0 Rifleman (WEEE trying to beat a master rifle with his own skills, just 5x as bad )

I'm commando 0-0-4-0, how about as short range as a TKM, with 4x as bad defense, and worse dps?

I'm novice artisan.. hmm.. should have built a uhmm.. **edit** can you build when youre novice artisan :/ OH YAH those cdefs!!! Of course I will be able to actually CRAFT a poison weapon! Or! I should have started to SURVEY! THAT'D confuse him AIGHT!!!

I'm not a Zabrak, ugly specie, I'm a sexy Twi'lek of course ( no bonuses anyone? )

So for last time I should:

1. Get a decent ranged proffesion, to ACTUALLY try to SHOOT OUT the best ranged proffesion in the game? kk..

2. Get CH WOOT I can use a durni! cool it'll tank for me! oh damn it died, grrr just wait I'll pet a nightsister!!!

3. Hmm skillpoints are running out now but anyways I'll become and architect! I'll try to build a house right on a hill to run around it! weeeheee!

4. which are these cdef weapons you are talking about? poison on those? what str, 14? ooooh that'd confuse him, I start out with a vk then switch to a cdef! I'll try that next time..

</sarcasm>

Thanks for the tips though, they've been atleast of a little help ...

Actually, I won't fight a rifleman again. But if I have to, I'll run inside a house. (right, houses...what if there is no houses? ah forget about it...)

Always try for the Lunge, it will stop the kiting quickly. If they are not armored, then it is worth a shot to land the KD/Dizzy once, if it fails, drop it quick and get into the UAH3. If they nail you with state effects, try Combo2 which is said to ignore state effects and push on through. If they are wearing Ubese or Comp don't even bother. Against armor you have two choices -

A: Stand in there pumping every food and buff you can to keep you going for as long as possible, and make their armor pay dearly for their insolence.

B: Run the hell away saving your own armor, food/spice stuffs, and more importantly your dignity.

Should of considered a retreat. Starting to fight a rifleman from 70m as a TKA is NOT the place to be.

were you in a city, because if so a very low trick is to hit him with a launcher pistol,(you said you were a commando right?)causing a nice amount of lag, becauseof the particle effects, while quite cheap it does workwell most of the time in cities, and almost deadly in coronet =) also a nice trick is to go to town on his mind... if another person from the same faction as you finds him hell almost definitely die=)

lunge is a great way to get em. Lots of people will know you are tk and use defence vs KD food. so a posture change will slow them enough. And if you stick a dizzy with it.. when they try to stand they are goners.

Hi.

I just had a fight with a rifleman. What a pain for a tkm! I was overt... started out about.. errr.. 70m from him?

Everntually he was dumb enough to run up to me, lol.. Though by the time being, he had already wasted most of my mind, and I couldnt get a kd on him. So, what should I have done here?

Help

Canape, Brandy, Muon, Burst Run, AzzKickin KD/Dizzy style in that order. If the Rifleman was Comp'ed up (80%) you will known after spamming Unarmed3 to no effect. If that's the case, run like a coward and live to brag about your evasion skills.

You could have:

(a) Been a Zabrak, and use /equilibrium when you got close. *evil grin*

(b) Broke his line of sight, by fighting around a building.

(c) Gotten a CDEF weapon with a poison on it.. to confuse him as to your profession, possibily pulling him in to try and take you out fast.

(d) On a more sinister note, you could runaround a pack of red aggros, hoping that he/she isn't careful, and gets something else to worry about.

In actual fact, there's not a lot you can do about a Rifleman. If they keep themselves out of range of a /lunge, you're pretty much out of luck. They'll go for your Mind, too.. so Blue Milk or Brandy is good. The best you can do is run out of range, and use lag to trick them into thinking you're running away when you've changed direction and are actuallyrunning towards them.

So Retreat is definately an option. This question also depends on what otherprofessionsyou have. If you're a CH, send your pet Kimo, If you have a ranged class, shoot back! If you'rea Doc, tell them that if they kill you the prices for *their* buffs will go up to 25k the next time you speak to the Doctors guild on your server. If you're a Dancer/Musician offer to buff their Minds, then kill them when they get close. If you're an Artisan class.. umm... build a bridge and get over it? I don't know what to tell you there.

Hope this has been semi-helpful, and slightly amusing.

My mind was at about 3000 before I went overt. I had long before the duel taken 2 brandys, right before one more, plus I ate canape ( no muon duo to kd def food ).. I had less than half my mind when I arrived to the rifleman.

And yes I burst ran.

Yes I tried to KD/Dizzy (KD2), simply didn't work.

Didn't work. I had a hard time hitting him when I was within 5m range. Argh why that bug.. lol.

No I didn't try to lunge, should I have lunged?

Do you NEED a ranged class for any pvp outside of pure duels, and maybe in duels too?

Thanks for the tips.. I'lltry lunge next time ( feel so stressed when kd2's not working ^_^ )

Though the ****ing (bug) thing that makes you non-able to hit unless within 3-5m... when real range with uh3/headhit/kd2 etc should be 12m. blah.

Do what i did and become a TKM plus 4-4-0-4 CM, then u run like a coward till his mind is at nothing or u can burst run to him and KD/dizzy him then just watch it tick while he falls on his arse and do a /laugh, thats to funny. My poisons ticked at around 550-600. So yeah, a rifleman or any profession was not a problem for me.

BTW, u can get range melee powerups for when people kite u all the time. It really works good.
