Thread: TKM vs FENCER (not a whine thread)

Ok, so we all know about the fencers. Well, i have been running a few tests for a week with 2 master fencers amd have come to some conclusions.

Here some info on the status of tka

Pro:

Can hit hard and fast
Can target single pools
Can instantly get up from incap

Contra:

Only kinteci dmg, which every good pvper has 80% resists to
Only 4x% stun resits to date on armour
Doing a headhit on fencer is useless as you wont dent it with armour, canape, brandy and an ent buff
Realy, really bad defences against states (i dont get it, we can apply em, why not defend against em?!)
Defensive Acuity doesnt work
COB usless (see above)


Now, a fencer will use a stun baton, perdiod. He will ALWAYS hit harder than you for the simple reason that you cant have the same ammount of protectiona gainst stun as he does against kinetic. Next, you will probably hit him 1/5 times and sticking a kd/dizzy is nearly impossible or he will get up instantly. If you get kd on the otehr hand you will need many tries to get up.

As stated before our defences are broken. We have +96 at master and i didnt see a single dodge, block or evade in my combat log, even with cob. The fencers on the other hand evaded and dodged like crazy. Now, 96 is pretty damn high. If our defences worked, fencers would have a much harder time. Thus i tell you, be patient and wait til it gets fixed. It is one of the main reason we loose so badly to them. Next, i dont undertstand why our state defences are so low. I believe they should be much higher, since we can get slapped around like a punching bag but the fencers can just stand up after a dizzy/kd, even if still dizzy.

Results were TKA 3 FENCER 5.

Now, i will repeat these tests when (if ever) our defences get fixed and will see the fencer try hitting me. This said i wish you all good luck in pvp and plead you all to understand that us loosing this badly is not supposed to be like this. We are nto weak, nor will we ever be. Our defence is just broken. We deal so much dmg in PVE that we dont need it. PVP is a completely diferent thing.

Well, defensive accuity does work, and so does center of being, but it works much much less than other defenses. So much less that for your typical PvP fight which only lasts for a short period of time, you won't see it fire. But it does work(just not as good as it needs to by far).


A fewquick questions for these tests, were you using intimidate and/or stun on the fencers? If not, that makes a world of difference. Also, were you using combo 1 or combo 2 or were you mostly using UA 3? Combos are generally better in PvP for a variety of reasons.


I'm not saying your results are wrong, I'm just curious what tactics you used.

Yes, i was using stun and intimidate and i was using mostly targeted hits. WIll try doing combos tho, never really thought of that really. BUt lets face it, we dont dodge, evade or block. I havent seen myself do it. Ever.

Admitedly one of the fencers was not a pro, but i won 1/2 fights with the good one. Its all luck on the kd really most of the time.

I'm a master TK (no other combat, working for master brawler tho, but no bounus defenses as of yet)


Anyways, this fencer was like "who wants to duel".i stood up from meditating and said MEEMEMEMEMEME!

(i love fighting fencers.)

well, i love fighting them if they dont have stun battons.


well, this guy had a FIRE STICK!!!! oh my god, i was like "YOU SET ME ON FIRE **edit** ARE YOU A COMMANDO!"

he tells me his stick has fire on it. and oh my god it hurt.

well he had armor on, i did not.

my VK is 50-198 damage. (uber damage slice. very nice) so we are fighting, i kd, dizzy. he evades (the dizzy stuck, but i couldnt knock him down obviously). so i'm head hitting him. since the TKspeed > Fencer speed. i was doing MAD damage.

Also, i COB before the fight, and whnever i can in the middle to keep the defenses going.

at the end of the fight, i'm sitting in cornet starport with 80% health wounds (very nice =)), and he is laying on the groud, incapped. very good fight. sort of long.

but we can beat a fencer. just avoid the Cow prod

Get yourself some stun layerd comp, on most servers those go up tp about 39% resist and full suit costs anywhere from 750k-1mil. Then get yourself a crate of PSG's. Because stun batons have 0ap and tka has bigger damage mods, the fencer will be hitting for MUCH less than the tka, Im talking about 16-20 damage per hit.

can you tell me those reasons plz?I'de like to know what goes behind the move onto the mechanics of it and maybe test it out. I fought a fencer (2221 I think) and I was 0142, I beat him, but he was using a kinetic weapon, we were both armored, buffed and drank brandy. I won but only thanx to equilibrium. I would have been done for. But back on topic, I would really like to know exactly how uacombo works better than UAH3.

just goes to show you that there is some balance in this game, NERF criers just fail to see that which really pisses me off cause they only look at the surface and not the mechanics. As they say, being called overpowered by NERF cries is only skin deep, but true uberness is to the bone (lol)

warcry..try and get Warcry to stick so you can Intimadate,Stun,Blind.
Once you land those..then go for KD+Dizzy.
Once you get them down..then hit U3..then Dizzy..the key is to land Intimadate,Stun and blind.

Like the guy above me said, get some stun armor. It absorbs a LOT more damage than most people think. Since stun batons are ap0, any armor not vulnerable to stun will automatically absorb 50% of the damage. Then it uses the stun resist to calculate the damage absorbed out of the remaining damage. For example: You have a full suit of 40% composite. You are hit for 1000 damage with a stun weapon, the armor being ar1 automatically absorbs 50% of this damage, or 500 damage. This leaves 500 damage, that damage is then reduced another 40%(200 damage). Meaning you only take 300 points out of 1000 damage. That 40% stun armor, against any ap0 stun weapon acts like its 70% resists. Add a PSG and you'll drop that damage even more
