Thread: When making a template, what do you consider....

I'm working on a new character and am still throwing template ideas around.

Some of the templates have high accuracy, low defense. Some have double elite masters and a few only have 1 master.

Do you build templates around professions, certain weapons, certain skills, or stats alone?

I didn't want to turn this into another template thread, but I can't resist.

What would be more important - higher accuracy than defense (melee/ranged), higher defense than accuracy, or a good balance both? This template would be for 98% PVE - 2% PVP.

Lol TKM fails 3 out of the 5 req's you have... TKM gets nice abilities... some broken, TKM also is not a FotM

I know right now I want Master Teras Kasi and Master Brawler in my final build. Now I am just trying to see if I want to go for the numbers (accuracy over defense or vis versa), go for certain skills, or go for certain weapons that I think look cool (I'm a bit vane, he he).

I thought it would be interesting to see how others build templates.

Drop MB...Pick up some doc...
If it includes TKM, I'd consider it...

You know that scene, the one where Marlon Brando did that little hand wave right before he died. Yeah. That was beautiful man.

If it was possible, I would take no medic at all and be all offense. But we all know that that isn't possible these days. To be honest, I don't want to waste the skill points to get doc when I think (hope) I can get by with just some medic.

Might be possible, just don't plan on tanking much without a powerful heal. I personally like the idea of having my abilities split straight down the middle of the mind/action cost road, but I don't disparage anyone from grabbing more offense.

My question is, why are so many people blowing the sp's on master brawler these days. I did mix that in with my template for a split second, but I completely fail to see the benefit.

Agreed, I was master Brawler for like 2-3 days, when I 1st got TKM, then I realized what a waste it was and picked up more swords skills.

I do not understand how you can consider MB as wasted points... For only 6 points you get

+25 melee accuracy

+15 melee speed

+10 melee defense

To me that sounds like a bargain....

Only six points!? Why are you dabbling in fencer and pikeman as well? MB costs 6 for the master box, but you also have to spend 14 in an unrelated branch to get it. 20 total. Compare the benefits of those 5 boxes to four in any of the elite professions. It is a waste of 20 points, not a huge gain by only spending 6.

Looks for fencer, umm nope... Pikesare essential for warcry and intimidate, so whatever happens I will have brawler 4444, so MB is only 6 SP....

I wasn't directly looking at your temp, and you made the logical error of assuming I was. MB would cost you 6 points, most double elites with healing better than tinkerbell would cost 20 points. Your template is kind of a who's who of brawler skills, be interested to know how it works out.
