Gotta ask a straight up question.
What is your distance to hit? I mean your ultimate reach with whatever special? Theres a tka on our server that used to raid a lot. Legendary, this guy is (at least he seemed to be in our neck of the woods). I finally met him a week or so ago.
Well, I knew to stay away (duh, its a melee class right, if you get too close you deserve to get whipped imo). Now with that in mind, I stayed away. As far as I could. I got into bare minimum firing range and tried like crazy to stay there well, he starts to close, FAST so I start to run, FAST (chuckle). He was nowhere near and I get kd'd. The second the kd happens its over. He dizzies next then kills shortly after.
I've got a friend as a tka and he'll even agree that the range to hit is unreasonable. I mean come on...someone with no weapon hitting from anything over 10m just isn't logical.
No problem with the power, problem with the range. With that I ask again: what IS your range?

It's called Lunge. Lunge1 has a chance to lower stance, Lunge 2 (Master Brawler) has a chance to KD. Both have a range of 15m I believe.

actually i've been using lunge at 20 meters for unarmed, but for the other 3 melees it seems to be 15.

Lunge, a BRAWLER skill, is the longest range hit 20m.

TKA specials go out 15m.

I just wish that people would stop blaming TKA for a BRAWLER skill.

The range is so long because the Devs cannot builda server to properly run this game. So they gave us a fudge factor. BTW I have been 3m from Rebel scum and still get messages that I am too far away.

Knocky hit it spot on. Sorry if it seems unfair, but I wouldnt last a second without it on my 56k.

My friend has the same trouble... he's been KDed at 30 meters before. I told him it was just lag but he swares it was 30 meters.

Lunge 1 is 15m Lunge 2 is 20m ALL MELEE HAS ACCESS TO THESE MOVES!!! so you know its not just TK's anyone that goes Master Brawler gets lunge 2 (kd). As far as your friend getting hit from 30m its probaly just the server latency issue that melee have been plagued with forever. Our screen will say 10m our target is actually 20m and so on and so forth.

Lots of instances of this are caused by client differences, he may appear to be a long way off on your client but in reality he's next to you - this seems to happen to me mainly around very busy cities.

People need to stop relating lunge 2 with TKM.... lunge 2 is a MASTER BRAWLER skill along with warcry 2 which people also feel is overpowered.... Lunge 2 is basicly a 20m KD which you get at "master brawler" NOT "TKA/TKM"

Lunge 1 is a TKM logest attack and it will hit from 15m away (technicly speaking) but that depends on the server/client lag. Lunge 1 is also NOT a KD but a posture change or i like to call it a posture DOWN attack, becasue basicly it does just that. If the target is standing its forced to kneeling but if the target is kneeling it will be forced to prone. This skill(lunge 1) comes with novice brawler, it is not TKA/TKM specific... every melee profession gets it.

So to sum things up a little bit... 15m (lunge 1) is the logestANY elite melee profession can hit from UNLESS they are also a master brawler. at master brawler you get a 20m KD (lunge 2)

also note that at Master Brawler you get 4 lunge2 attacks. One for all melee professions unarmed, one hand, two hand and polearm. All 4 are knockdowns and all 4 have a range of 20 meters.

It's what we have been given to stop kiting.

Solution. Stay AT LEAST 20 meters away. This is generally considered "melee range"

Basically since you are a BH think of it this way. If you are in range to use a LLC special you are dead

1-5 meters is auto attack

1-15 is special moves

1-24 is lunges 1 and 2

if you were in a building, he could probably always reach you
