Most people do power first, but you'll find that nearly everyone here did a different version as they climbed the tree, the reason most do power first is that it gives you the damage increase that allow you to kill much larger, xp laden creatures. Personally, I did the power tree first, but now that I'm leveling my new alt character, I think I'll go meditation 2 for powerboost, power and balance equally, then fill in the combat xp skills as I aquire it.

I did Balance 1 first (having a KD is nice). After Balance 1, I went on to finish Power, then did Meditation, finishing with Balance.
