Thread: Finding a nice Knuckler

I'm finishing up my template for the jedi grind and I'm nearing Teras Kasi Master. I've been using a player crafted/sliced vibroknuckler and have gotten decent results out of it, but it's wearing out quickly and I'd like to pick up something a little beefier. I've been out of the game about a year and a half up until thy put Galaxies on the Station All Access pass, so i'm a bit out of the loop. I was hoping someone could give me advice on how to get a good knuckler, I've seen people talking about looting nice ones. I've also seen a lot of posts referring to Nym's Vibroknuckers. Are those loot or a quest item? I have a Nym's Carbine from when i ran his themepark, can i trade that to another player for one, should I hunt for one, just buy another player crafted? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated

What people are talking about is a vk component you loot off Nyms Elite gaurd. Its called a vibro motor or something along those lines. Sorry I cant be more specific, but I have yet to loot one myself. Anyway, you loot the part and give it to a ws who then makes the actual vk. Its not unheard of to get 200+ dmg vk's this way. I know a guildie with a 220 dmg, so its worth a try if you have time and can find a good ws. Hope this helped a bit.

High Powered Vibro Motors. They are looted off of Nym Mobs(Not just Elite Guards, I've gotten them off Brawlers and Elire Pirates too), as Feisty said. The average damage addition for one of these is +20, though it's known to have gone up to +30(I have +24's). Although I believe that this was one of the many loots that got a headshot with the latest update, you should be able to get at least one motor in a single buff session. My knucklers were 212 max dmg after slice, before it was 167 max dmg. My knife was 60-167 dmg pre-slice, 60-222 dmg after. Both those weapons were made with these motors. And it *is* essential to find the best WS you can.

lol good call for adding that! Kauri is fortunate to have many 12pt ws (well crafters in gen) so I take excellent weaponsmithing for granted I guess....
It's sad to hear that that loot might have gotten pwned with the latest patch, Im kicking myself for not getting out there earlier now!

those motors and you can get up to 230-240 dmg if you have some decent luck=)

This is just a quick question, can I use a lightweight vibro blade unit to make a VK?

You can but it won't add damage.
My advise is to find a WS who specializes in melee weapons (they do exist and their end component will come out better most of the time)and make good friends with him.
