i have unarmed damage skill mod of 250. does this cap at 125?

say i have a VK

44 - 156 @ 2.1

AP 1

is my unarmed damage

0 - 250 @ (4?)

AP 0

essintially, against unarmored opponents (say huurtons,) would i do more damage with my fists or my VK? does my unarmed damage granted by skills cap at 125? does AP 1 do anything against opponents with AR 0? etc etc. As it stands, ive noticed little varyiation on my damage/second wether or not im using VK. just curious whats going on.

Ok firstly Unarmed damage doesn't cap (though the skill tapes are broken so don't try & up it with those).

A VK adds to you're unarmed damage so you're damage insted of been 44-156 with that VK is insted

As a TKM you are speed caped so the weapon speed doesn't come in to it.

AP1 does give you a bit of a damage increase againest AR0. I forget how much however, you only get the AP1 bonus however if what you are having has a resistance to it. The AP is most usful though when fighting an AR1+ Mob.

So just to sumerise that a bit, using a VK will nearly always give you a higher damage output then fighting unarmed. With a VK however you will have much higher HAM costs.

I think that covers everything you were trying to work out.

that just about does it. i do notice that when fighting other players, if they are not armored (jedi come to mind) i always do more damage whithout VKs equipped. is this a phenomenon or is it just me or is there an actual explanation for this?

thank you, by the way. i have to say that ona weekend waiting 8 hours for an answer on what is by far the mos tpopular elite profession was a bit surprising (not a complaint)

That just sounds likeit's just you & I have no idea why. You should be geting more damage with a VK, as I showed above VK stats stack on top of you're damage. The only thing that does come to mind would be if the damage range on you're VK is so much that mitigation is screwing it up, however a completed template Jedi has no mitigation. Even if they did though it shouldn't effect it that much & using the VK should still give a better damage output. It could just be that when you happen to have you're VK on you're opponent may be more prepeared & is using Synth Steak or something similar.

As far as the speed of response, you would have got one quicker if I hadn't of over slept this morning.
