Thread: Thunderwold? Meleee defence and unarmed toughness?
Whats the differance i read your post and it said unarmed toughness was only effective agains melee oponents, what then is melee defence?
Are they the same stat or is melee defence like ranged defence and makes them miss more?
ilcoz
unarmed toughness = less dmagae you take from melee attacks
melee def = harder to hit w a melee weapon
ranged def = harder to hit w a ranged weapon
I think unarmed toughness is a type of damage resist that kicks in while YOU are unarmed. For instance when I am getting hit by a creature while ihave a pistol equiped I take a lot more damage than I do when unarmed. To test this find an animal you can take alot of hits from and let it hit half a dozen times while holding a ranged weapon and note the damage. Then unequip the ranged weapon and note that the damage you are taking has been reduced drasticly.
In my experience it also works while being shot with a ranged weapon. The obove test can be used with a low lvl NPC that is laying prone shooting you. I think unarmed defense means you have more defense when you are unarmed regaurdless of the damage type being aflicted on you. Which makes sense if you think about it. As an unarmed combat master I am better trained at defending myself while i'm unarmed.
Anyone else getting the same results that I am?
