Thread: Question on fighting higher end mobs.
Ive reached the point where 90% of the MOBs I run accross offer little to no chalange, as long as it doesnt have a gun.
However im haveing dificulties with the bigger stuff I run across, and I was hopeing to get some insight from a few of the vererns here.
The first was a fight with an NPC, things where going normaly untill they did a special attack, something bonecrusher. My Ubese chestplate absorbed a single (1) point of damage and I took 986 (and died).
Has anyone experenced this before? Did the NPC swich weapons to one my armor was vulnerable to? Is this an old bug, a new one?
The latest fight was agenst a bull rancor. I have killed a couple anchent bull rancors, so i figured this one would be a bit easyer. The fight was going well, and then i was instantly incaped (and killed). Going back over the battle spam, it read like this...
You have become more dissessed
a rancor bull misses you
a rancor bull misses you
a rancor bull hits you for 80 damage, your amror absorbes 70
a rancor bull hits you for 15 damage, your armor absorbes 1 point
a rancor bull misses you
a rancor bull misses you
a rancor bull misses you
You have takend 654 wounds.
You have taken 22 shock wounds.
You are incapacitated.
Now my previouse experence with disease is that it does relay low wound damage, 10ish wounds per tick. Do rancors realy ahve a 650+ a tick disease?!? Is there a way for a player to tank a mob with this level of disease without haveing a doctor on hand making sure the instant the disease is inflicted, that it iscured?
Thanks for any thoughts or advice.
All the bull rancors I have fought had nasty disease dot. I won't fight them unless I am buffed. I usually have to stop and med away about 800 wounds after a single bull and I am certain that 90% of that is from the disease.

that disease is HUGE. I mean HUGE.
Its not a normal disease, at all.
Thanks for the replies.
Do the other forms of rancors have the same/simular disease DOT?
Ive only fought 3, and only been diseased from a bull rancor, the anchient bull rancors did not disease.
Ive heard the kilomigilas also have a disease, is it as nasty, 100s of wounds a tick?
1) It was the Dev's intention that we, the players, not be able to solo anything that cons red basically. So don't expect to be able to take on everything alone.
2) Poisons and Diseases were increased, making things do increased damage with said DOT's. You'll find the higher end mobs now have heavy disease and heavy poison, which is basically doing that kind of damage per tick. Also lots of mobs that never used to hit with these dots, now do.
It's to help prevent people soloing again. See point #1.

Guys, couple of things here:

1) They missed.
Right now i can (and itsnothing many other people havent done)solo multiple mobs of CL 50. Under level 50 there are many, many mobs to chose from, however after 50 there are very few. I want to find some critters to fight that are not imposable nor easy to fight, a good chalange as it were.
However so far a fight is eather a cakewalk, or the MOB hits me with a 1 hit kill. There is no middle ground that i have found, and would like to find. The couple ancient rancors so far have been the best fights. I got incaped once becase I wasnt paying close enoughattention. Thats the way a good fight should go. The next fight I payed better attention and won. A couple very good fights, however I would like more good fights then the occastional lucky find. Also im not sure if I was simply lucky and they didnt hit me with a 700/tick disease.
I dont think anyone beleaves the con system is working. Right now the /con system beleaves my character is about level 20. Im not sure a level 20 critter could even damage me, let alone kill me, and that hold true for 90% of the people out there.
The con system does not take so many things into account, such as other supporting profesions you may have outside the skill boxes in your current weapon, that players are a sever under con. I only have about 40 skill points in my current weapon, but 200 total points in melee fighting.
Most likely I just made my char to well for low end PvE, and now need to think what I want to do about the higher end.

are you serious.... why would they want to do that... i got most of my way to lvl 4 on all the trees in tka by fighting alone..not saying i didnt have help here and there.... but i like doing it on my own.. whats wrong with that... i dont understand there reason for doing something so stupid.... not everyone wants to run around with 10 - 15 people not together just unorganized... and for the most part, the time am on not to many people are logged in... i dont like groups period... because you always have to fight to get a loot.... why go through all of that... why not do it own your own... this is suppose to be star wars ... not everyone runs around in groups... Darth Maul was solo... Jango Fett and Bubba Fett were solo....it should be a players choice not something force feed by the DEVS.... its more of a challenge fighting a rancor on your own..
