If you like me are pure melee char, master brawler is a must. Not sure how other TKA think about that, but unarmed lunge II made things easier for me in pvp wise.

Whats your opinion ?

Why do you feel that UnarmedLunge 1 is inadequate?

If your goal is PvP then unarmed lunge 1 may not inadequate but unarmed lunge 2 is far superior.

Unarmed lung 1 has a range of 15 meters and is merely a posture change. Unarmed lung 2 however has a range of 20 meters and is a bonafide knockdown. I don't care what people say the 4 lunges given at master brawler ARE BONAFIDE KNOCKDOWNS. The benefits of master brawler for PvP cannot be emphasized enough.

At master brawler you get 4 knockdowns, a longer more powerful warcry and intimidate and bonuses to those skills.

Add in some bio clothing with warcry/intimidate effects and you are a highly effective fighter.

For PvE unarmed lunge 2 followed by warcry2 keeps a MOB on the ground for a full 20 seconds. Imagine what this could mean for PvP.

I'mcurrently a master brawler. I dueled a friend who basically tried to kite me. I hit him with warcry and while he ran I was able to stay within 20 meters and was able to incap him basically spamming him with unarmed lunge 2 alone. He couldn't fire back at all because of warcry2.

If you are a brawler only build and if you want to do a lot of PvP then Master Brawler is a must.

I used unarmed lunge 2 instead of the TKA knockdown all the time.

Longer range and I THINK the HAM costs are lower. I can't remember right off hand but the fact that it's a knockdown with a range of 20 meters makes it better than the TKA knockdown given at Balance 1.

/agree

I feel like I'm using the force when i use Lunge 2, lol.

All the TKAs complain about kiters.

Solution to kiting = master brawler (most of the time).

It is espessially good in citys. And against other melee characters that don't have master brawler. And if you get a WarCry off on someone, and then KD them in PvP they will lay on the ground for 2 seconds, lol. A novice Pikeman could kill someone if they were lying on the ground for 20-15 seconds.

And yes, it is a KD move. When it fails you get a "Failed to kncok down target" message. And I have never done anything but KD People/Creatures/NPCs when it lands.

You have to run in and dizzy regardless, as a knockdown aloneonce per 30 seconds is not a match winner against someone who isn't holding a heavy weapon/rifle without getting really lucky. According to swgcenter, the HAM costs are *higher* but the special does more damage. I'd love to have master brawler. I'd love to have the skillpoints for it, but I'd rather have a lot of other things. Knockdowns are resisted so frequently in PvP now that their usefulness is being seriously erroded.

P.S., having multiple knockdown specials does not allow you to do more than one knockdown per 30 seconds on a given target if that's what you were thinking. The timer is on the target, not the attacker. The only exception is theCarbineers' KDat the moment.

However if you are searching for melee PvP "uberness" . . . I meant "ub3rness pwnage" then master brawler should be gotten. The extra 5 meters helps as does warcry2 (20 seconds as opposed to 10)

Besides it's a ranged knockdown and that alone makes it very usefull.

For PvE or ultimate Player tank then I would suggest master brawler. For PvE then no because the skill points can be used to flesh out your toon.

I've gotmaster brawlerand I also plan to master 2 brawler professions. I'm debating keeping master brawler or using the extra skill points to flesh out my scout and medic trees.

I'm a TKA/Ranger and I got Master Brawler a few days ago. So far I'm impressed with it in PvE. I hunt a lot and Intimidate II, Warcry II and UA Lunge II definetly rock. I have used all these skills at the novice level since launch and their big brothers are very nice.

I have yet to PvP, but I'm wearing my Master Brawler tag proudly so it's just a matter of time.

I don't think Master Brawler is a must, but it's nice. I will probably drop it when I get TKM (2,3,3,2) and go for Master Ranger.

I wouldn't call it a must... I used unarmed lunge1 plenty fine in pvp.

But there is no arguing master brawler brings a few really nice to have pvp skills in the mix

I used unarmedlunge2 almost all the time when I leveled the teras kasi three.. Seems to me it has a higher success rate than KD1 and KD2.. Used KD2 sometimes when I was surrounded by humanoid mobs, since it is faster to land kd and dizzy in the same hit.

And I agree, it is a must for PvP..

If it's a must for PvP... some might think so , but personally I don't consider it to be. Yes it's a nice addition , because no one can say Warcry2 and UA Lunge 2 aren't great skills , but considering them a "must"... I think is a bit too much.

Personally , when faced with the choice of being a Master Brawler and a Master Ranger (or Doctor...) I don't even have to think twice before choosing the second!

So , in the end... my conclusions are:

1- Master Brawler is a good addition to PvP but the skills points you spend getting itmake it less desirable than it could be. (If theunarmeddamage mods were better I would get it right away!)

2- If you are a lot more into PvP than PvE (which I'm not btw) , go for it!!!

3- I completely understand why some choose the Master Brawler tree, but personally , I believe there are better places to spend your points. (Doctor , Combat Medic , Fencer , Swordsman ,Ranger , Rifleman , etc.)

4- It's too bad I can't be agreat Ranger without sacrificing the possibility to be a Master Brawler! I can be aRanger and a MB yes , but there at least two ranger trees I really musthave!
