Thread: armour...
I just hit TKN...and i was wondering what the best armour is for me to wear...i am currently wearing Ubese and find that pretty good...any suggestions? =)
Many Thanks

I just reached TKM, and i used composite armor all the way through TK and it was great. If you are fighting something that hits hard, the composite armor if great because it absorbes so much of the damage. Dont listen to what peopel say that the encumbrances are to high, because in the long run it is much more benificial to have the protection of the armor. If you can get a set of buffs the encumbrances dont make any difference at all.

Speaking from the perspective of a Master Armorsmith who also has a TKA I'm leveling up on a diff server....do NOT wear comp the whole way through. If you do, you do NOT understand how your armor works. Composite is nice because 1) it normally has very high resists across the all the damage types except stun (and if layered can even cover that somewhat) 2) Having protection against nearly all the diff types of damage is the safest bet for PvP
But you didnt ask what to wear for PvP, so protection against every kind is not what you need. With buffs it is true, the encumbrances can be negligible....but....why hamper any of your stats by 100-200 more points on the head/chest/legs than you need to? Add up the encumbrances for a whole suit of well made Advanced Composite compared to a whole suit of well made Advanced Ubese. If you are going to be fighting mostly kinetic damage, then wear Advanced Ubese that has been crafted to be geared towards resisting Kinetic. If you are going to be fighting alot of Energy, then get a suit for that, etc. If money and buffs are no object, then ya, might as well just keep yourself in high end composite and full Doc buffs....but if you cant afford to spend 150-300k for a suit of armor plus a few k for buffs every outing, then just get what you need. And remember, a suit of Chitin with 50% resists to kinetic is the same as a suit of Comp with 50% resists to kinetic if you are going against kinetic damage. Or, 60% kinetic Adv Ubese is better than 55% Kinetic Adv Comp.
And shop around before you buy....find out what resist levels are available and for what prices as suits will vary greatly both in weigh and resists from smith to smith.
Not true that chitian has the same kinetic resists as composite, my adv. composite has way 60% kinetic resists. If you can find composite with higher than 60% kinetic resists it is much better than Ubese.
