Is this starting to piss anyone off? Its got me pretty upset and makes soloing on places like dant a pain in the ass when your fighting a picket and your hitting each of their pools evenly..

I think it’s a trade off. We hit hard, but it’s not directed. I’ve been a Master Pistoleer in the recent past, and am a TKA Novice now (have the XP for Power 1, just haven’t bought it yet), and when I would use my Pre-Nerf FWG5 against a non-armored foe while using Body Shot 3, I was doing less damage, but was focused.

The comparison would also be Stopping shot, which, if my memory serves correctly, was a Random pool hit. It did a considerable amount of damage, but often took me more shots to finish a creature off. I could single shot a good portion of the slightly stronger creatures with it, and it was great in conjunction with a knockdown, but if I was hunting something with a high HAM, I would have to switch BS3 if I wanted any real consistency and to take the mob out faster.

im TKM, and if something is half damaged ill use specific strike to kill it, but if it's at full, ill just spam UA hit 3, its a trade off, high damage = undirected

I think what this poster is referring to is the fact that you can start whooping something and you see something along the lines of..

You do damage to health until you get it to the point where it is about to die and suddenly you don't do anymore damage to the health.. Your damage then moves to the Action bar andonce it is low enough and close to death then you have to work on mind... Once the mind is down then you can kill it..

The really bad part is that the Mob will attack your lowest pool until you are dead... They have to take out one bar and you pretty much have to take out all three of their bars...

This really irritates me to no end..

If this wasn't what you meant with your post... whoops.. it still irritates me.

Thanks to Vasarian Brandy I am now the town drunk and ONLY go to the AA meetings to brag about the killing spree done during my drunken rage.

Trust me even with targeting all 3 we are a hell of alot better off then any other melee class.

Oh, I agree, it is frustrating as hell. It’s cost me more than one fight as the mob is killing my mind, but I still think it’s completely fair for no other reason than the fact that it does twice the amount of damage of a large number of the focused shots I’ve seen. I can only assume that at UA3 the multiplier will increase.

Yes, I often scream at my avatar that there is no need to destroy every bar, that any single one will do. Apparently this serves no purpose other than to distract my Avatar so he misses a couple of times and ends up at the cloning station.

use your pool specific attacks given in the precision striking discipline.

most of the random attacks hit health anyway then action then mind. . . it's not as "random" as you think.

Aaaah in the end we get a hit for each of the 3 bars. So we can end a fight somewhat easier. I did pistoleer together with TK and when i hit novice i also could get precision I with its body hit and was already half way to Precision II with its leg hit. thats 2/3rd of the HAM already covered. And by the time you hit master you can hit all 3 if you want to. There is almost no profession who gets to target each of the HAM bars not even in the other melee, AFAIK.

You know that TKAs get pool-specific hits in the precision strike tree? And a health hit right at box one, followed by action at box two? If it gets low on health spam 2 or 3 health hits, and down it goes.

As another poster has pointed out, most hits are in the health pool anyway. And if its mind is low and you don't have head hit yet (box 4), then you can use the combo 1 if you want toraise your chances of hitting mind.

At TKM, I usually start with a couple UA3, then target the lowest pool - almost always health, followed by action, seldom mind - to finish it off.
