well it usually depends on what you want to do. Though I myself am not a TKA, i think you should go up the mitigation tree first (at least to box 3 to get mitigation 2) and then work on meditate followed by the powertech tree. Combat exp will come on its own for the precision striking tree so dont worry about that tree too much. You dont have to follow this, it is just what I would do.

Good luck to you.

Get your KD box first. By far the most helpful skill for grinding TK. After you knock your opponent down, be sure to /warcry em to keep em down for 10 seconds. Once you have KD, you really can't go wrong in how you proceed from there. TK is great for hunting just about anything, especially if you know how to use food/drugs, and keep at least novice medic to heal your self.

To give you an Idea of what a TKM can do: I am currently only a TKM (ignore my sig I'm grinding so my proffession changes alot) it is my only combat ability.

With 60% kinetic composite (helmet, chest, boots, gloves) I can go toe to toe with a Canyon Krayt for as long as my Muon lasts. Granted I can't come anywhere NEAR killing it, I don't even dent it's HAM, but it can't kill me either.

Personally I didn't bother with knockdown because I couldn't get warcry to stick often enough to justify the HAM costs, especially in light of having good ubese armor (so often I lost more damage to trying to KD/Warcry than from the enemy)

If you have some +warcry clothing and/or you're a master brawler, definitely get knockdown. After that I'd try to max out power techniques, as the extra speed/damage will make the grind pass that much more quickly. Some people really prefer going for meditate 2 first, since that gives you powerboost. If you can get doctor buffs, PB isn't really that necessary.

Really, all the boxes save meditate 3 and balance conditioning 3 seem to be valuable, so I'd probably go for 2-2-4-X in whatever order you want, then 4-2-4-X (meditating your wounds away is choice), then master.

Eh heh, please ignore that post-- somehow I or my browser got confused and replied to the wrong thread a couple times. Was supposed to be in the doctor forums.

I personally went for 0-1-4-2

I got KD/Dizzy and went up the power line for damage and speed.

With a set of doc buffs I can usually go toe to toe with about 6-7 plan walker pikets/pikets on me and only have to think about a muon downer

Thats with a 72% Adv Ubese set on.

I've heard 2 lots of ppl say once you get going in TKA that a VK isn't necessary unless fighting armor clad NME's

I've yet to try it out as I grind between making houses and stuff

But the dmg and speed from power line has helped with KD/dizzy.. I even went toe to toe with 5 10k HAM squils last week.. just never looked at my muon timer hehe

Based on my own experience working on TKA on test center, it really depends

If you just PvE, getting balance 1(knockdown) might not be "necessary" but I wouldreally recommend it. Even if warcry doesn't stick, you still are able to get a few hits in at extra damage, which if anything, speeds up how quickly you defeat something. If you PvP a lot, then knockdown is a must for sure.

Beyond that, there are a couple of options. If you have really high quality armor and are always going to be in a position/want to spend the time to buff yourself, then after you get knockdown, just go straight up the power tree picking up any precision you qualify for along the way.

If you don't have great armor and/or you won't always be fighting with buffs(frequent on test center which is why I went this route ) get balance 1 first then go 2/2/2/2 then work your way up the power tree from there. At 2/2/2/2 you'll have powerboost so you can buff yourself, and you'll get a large increase in unarmed toughness which really helps defense wise.

Of course, there isn't really a best way , but at just shy of being 2/2/4/2 tka, thats what I'd recommend based on my experiences so far.

Do you group a lot, if so i would say the power tree, then meditation tree. But in the end its really up to you, if your goal is master it does'nt matter whitch tree you start on, they all end on the same box.

your best bet would be to master meditation and power. but its a tough call. med 4 lets you heal your wounds but geting power 4 will allow you to sick amounts of xp making the grind so much easier. so ill change my answer to master power first that way it will day you only a few days to blow throw the other trees.

First get unarmed knockdown, then unarmed dizzy, then get meditate 1-4, then finish the tree as you like. Get the combat xp skill boxes as they are available.

Meditategives you the greatest advantages over other players when soloing PVE. You can stop bleeding, cure poison and disease, heal your own wounds (very fast), boost your stats, and recover from incap when using FOW (sometimes).

Another big tip is to get novice medic, buy a crate of advanced stim Bs, and +25 injury BE clothing. Novice medic really really helps, and the BE clothing will let you heal more damage.

A great way to get unarmed xp is by running faction destroy missions. You can knockdown/dizzy the NPCs, get money for doing missions, and earn faction points at the same time. OR get a group and go to Fort Tusken.

I wish I had mastered TKA this way, it would have saved me from a lot of down time and from many deaths.

I am surprised by the diversity of opinion. The method I used, which was overwhelmingly recommended to me, is this: First get the knockdown box, then go all the way up the power tree, then the meditation tree and lastly the balance tree. Combat fills in as it comes.

I really think the knockdown box, (first balance box), followed by the power tree is pretty much the only way to go. There is no substitute for the speed and power you'll get in the power tree. Power boost in meditation is a big plus, but mixing and matching from the meditation and balance trees is more of a personal choice after the power tree is done.

I did this with novice medic, so I could use stim B's. If you don't have medic, I still recommend getting KD and then power first, but you'll have to group with a friend who can heal. If you try to go up the meditation tree first, it will take forever.
