tkm OWNS in pve, maybe master sword is as good, but nothing owns in pve like tkm. straight up tkm, nothing else.

lemme put it this way: rancor lairs get boring really fast cause they present no challenge whatsoever.

the only weakness you will have is creatures with 100% kinetic resists like NS Elders, Peko Albatrosses, etc. but you will never have another worry making your harvestor runs again. and you will probably not have to worry about armor for harvetor runs. i oftentimes forget to put it on when i get aggro'd, it don't matter. everything just dies so damn fast.

with those 193dmg vk's, at master you'll be putting out over 3000pts of damage per second with basically zero misses.

do get some 1.5spd vk's while you grind. by the time you throw them away they'll be pretty used up. since your a WS try to get vk's that slice above 200dmg, add a nice little powerup and bam.... save that 193dmg vk as your daily-use vk at master, and shoot for owning a +210 or so nym vk for pvp.

While I am working on my first holo. Ranger for about 2 months now, I am not a holo-grinder. For a long time I was a Master Weapon Smith / Master Merchant / Master Artisian with some marksman in there. I got tired of getting killed every time I went on a harvestor run. So I went up the Carbineer tree. A month later (Sat night) I mastered Carbineer and I still felt like I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn (Even with a ton of skill tapes and Really good Krayt Weapons) So I droped Carb and decided on TKM. Over Halfway through Unarmed 4 right now.

My main question is can I be effective in PvE with TKM as my only combat profession. I may PvP a little bit but I am not expecting much there. I just want to be able to defend myself better. Lol (Tired of thugs taking all my lunch money)

Unless you are getting attacked by NPCs/mobs with insane kenetic resist, than TKM is an excellent choice as your only combat class. You will be fine.

That is what it is all about. Being excited about playing and accomplishing new things. Hope you have fun. If you were on Ahazi I would hook you up with some good grinding knucklers I have. Sliced myself a bunch before I quit Smuggler.

I have a set that are 38-145 1.6 right now. I pulled 8 VK's off my vendor last night that I used +20 motors in and will be etting them sliced tonight. And I have a +27 motor that I have been hold on to. Got a customer that I made some night-sister ones that is going to give me back one that is 193 max 1.9 speed with pretty low hams. Guess being a WS has it's advantages. I expect that as soon as the new TKM weapons goes live I'll have the schematic within a few hours so I can get one made.

Congratz Siymon!

I would recommend use a super fast speed sliced VK, rather than using a damage one. Ofcourse the damage helps, but speed is more important at this point.

Until you get to TKA Power IV, then you could switch over to a damage sliced VK, at that point you have pretty good speed already. You should go up as followed

0-1-1-0

then go up all the way up the Power tree

0-1-4-0

You want to get the first one is to get KnockDown, very helpful! Also do Imtimadate, then Dizzy, and KnockDown. Aftewards, just unarmedhit2 all the way until you Master TKA where you get unarmedhit3.

The intimadate and dizzy will improve your chance of doing knockdown and hitting. I have a VK sliced damage with nightsister up to 223 max damage saved up for me to use once i hit master

I am currently 0-2-4-2 now on TKA. Could solo Geo Cave okay, until I see a Kwi or Droideka.

BTW, if you have extra skill points, go up Smug too. It helps because they have Melee Damage Mitgation and Range Damage Mitgation

One of the biggest pains you have to face right now (in my opinion) is the grind from IV through Novice (which SUCKS!). Just hang in there, and do Quenker missions on Dantooine (isn't that everyone's advice??? lol). It's completely worth the trouble after you get Novice done.

~AndreLinoge~ The good (in people) is, by and large, just an illusion. Little fables folks tell themselves, so they can get through their days without screaming too much.

Yeah, you do see a huge different in terms of daamge impact between unarmed IV and novice TKA. Using skill tapes @ unarmed IV really helps a lot too if you could get yourself a few of those.

Also, once you get novice TKA, no need to do quacker, but do Huntress Huurton. They give more on their mission payout and XP. Do that until get at least 2 bar on the power tree, then you could solo at Geo Cave entrance. With knockdown, solo at entrance is fairly easy, until some IDOIT! tries to go lower and drag up a few Kwi and Droideka at the same time. That will totally screw you over.
