I just dueled a Jedi. I lost, but i'm not sure what I did wrong. Perhaps some of you could shed some of your wisdom, so I can do better next time.
By the way, Griffin?
I did lose with grace. I cloned, stood up, and challenged him again. But he would not accept another challenge.
maybe it's cus he feels bad hitting a girl?!?!?! *shrug*
anyway, please help me, anyone. I would love some ideas from experienced PvP'ers.

well. I reviewed my combat tab, and from top to bottom during the fight, it says "That target is out of range". It's all over it. it's as if I never hit him once. but he was hitting me with his saber...... i think. i'm not sure. I tried every special I had... except warcry. but not much stuck. He was running around a lot, but i don't understand. If he's running, how can he hit me with his saber, but I can't hit him with my attacks?

Once I figure out how to do it, I'll try to post screenshots of the combat tab.

Hehe, El-Diablos is a fairly advanced Jedi. Done with his trials I think. He was using his saber throw or whatever it is called more than likely. Watched him take out another player like that.

War Cry, followed by intimidate and intimidate. Gives you 10 seconds respite from attacks, and reduces his damage significantly. Close the range, hit /burstrun and /follow if needed, and use lunge 1 (or 2) to stop him.

yeah, there were a lot of saberthrows on my combat tab. I take it that's a ranged attack, by the name of it, right?
I heard that a Teras Kasi Master could take out a Jedi.I'm hoping it's still true.
Oh, by the way.. After looking at my screenshots, I realized he was buffed, and had his jedi robes on. Those robes are like armor, right?
I was unbuffed and unarmored at the time. Maybe it would have been different if I had thought ahead, huh?

saber throw is a ranged attack that is why you never hit him , i dont know about your server but , get close , blind stun intemadate and dizzy him keep doing this in between hit his mind and try combo 2 it works quite nicely , a high ranking jedi will be a very hard fight if they buffed even harder dont expect to think you will win easy just because you are TKM use your skill if he runs lunge him but keep him in your range

Side note:
I always fathomed the duel of two melee professions to be, well melee. A jedi running away and using throws doesn't seem to be such a good sport.
Just my two credts.

Hey, I really appreciate all the info I'm getting here! You all are fantastic!
I didn't want to be one of the people whining that "PvP is broken". I think with enough practice, I can learn to use all my skills, and be a pretty good fighter.
I'm glad the Teras Kasi, across all servers, are more inclined to take their losses with dignity. And I'm glad we all have the courage and intelligence to learn from our mistakes, and try again.
Now, if only I could find that El-Diablos guy again......

The problem is, a jedi can remove all states from him while on his stand (the higher lvl ones) so if you see a jedi that can do that, and stand, it will be hard to juggles your kd/states on him, so thus, we lose.

I fought a jedi today. Used the warcry, intimidate2, intimidate2, to start and then went through the normal PvP actions. Got him dizzy, a few kd's, and just pounded away on him as long as I could. My guildmates were teling me to stun him, apparently they think it inhibits use of the force or the jedi's defense. I'm investigating. He was able to heal himself pretty well, but I was fully buffed so I also had staying power. We also both brought friends. His pikeman buddy put a lot of disease/poisons on me from the start which eventually helped incap me about .5 seconds before the Jedi was taken down by the work of my head-hits and two ranged guildmates who showed up towards the end. Thus I barely survived and the jedi was destroyed.
It was an excellent fight, I think the Jedi and I personally consider it a draw between us...and I'm sure we'll meet again. However, he was a Padawan and I am a Master Artist...so I'm guessing he will have the advantage at our next meeting. I recommend putting the states on jedi, trying to keep them down, and just pounding away as long as you can...calling your friends is always a good idea. These Jedi gain power from forces outside them while we find our power within, and within our friends (and their rifles).
