How effective is meditate at TKM ?

I ask because I'm going mellee Bounty Hunter and I'd like two pistoleer defence lines (Pistoleer xx44)

However it leaves me no room at all for medic !

So does meditate at master negate the need for Medic?

No, as meditate can't be used during a battle. If you want a quick-heal then you'll need to go for Medic.

Meditate's best function is making you self-sufficent. You don't need to get other people to heal your wounds, and HAM regeneration is sped up a fair bit, as well as meditate removing poison and disease quickly.
Also, you will be able to Power Boost. This is useful if you don't want to use a buff, or your buff has run out. Although it's not as strong as a buff, it does make a difference. Just remember to keep your mind fed with brandy and/or canapes.

So what i like about meditate is that you could, thoretically, walk from one corner of a planet to the opposite corner, killing as you go, with no neccesity to return to civilisation for a buff or wound healing. Battle Fatigue is the only thing you can't heal, but as we know, it's possible to be very heavily fatigued and still fight on.
For a quick-fix to your wounds, though, it doesn't compare to Medic.

Well, my main focus is go Jedi hunting Buffed, in which case I don't know what can save me more - stim B's a plenty or more defensive skills?

I already have :-

Novice Bh

TKA 2242

Medic 2111

Powerboost is great, i like to use it on top of a full buff & Brandy set. You can get your HAM to 4k nearly if all goes well ! It's unfortunate that Novice Medic is so prohibitive in it's 15 SP requirement. If I can use Stim B at Novice then it might be worth going down that road. What do you think ?

It's all very well to get your H & A up to 4000 and use your mind for powerboost, but any Jedi with sense will get out his 1-handed lightsaber and hit your mind.

My opinion is that Meditate on its own won't be that much use for Jedi killing, as you won't get a chance to meditate. If you can get the whole of TKM theough, do it. I don't know whether you can afford TKM, novice doc and the BH skills you need, but TKM is wonderful - lots of defences, great state infliction and good damage output against things which aren't really heavily armoured
I'm fine with only novice medic, as long as i have good stims.

Honestly, I would say that Medic would help you more in Jedi hunting than Meditate. Meditation is great, but you will need the ability to heal during battle, and meditation will not allow you to do that.

Not at all. Most Jedi will go for the mind pool.

Even if you have just novice medic, the ammount of damage you can heal is easyly down again during the time you get delayed as novice medic by using /healdamage.

From my experience most Jedi I know level with a 2H or a Polearm Saber so if you catch them at the right time they can't mind hit you. Also if you time your healing right, say by Warcrying & peace out while you heal he can't reapply the damage stright away so you get a a few seconds to make sure your ready to keep going.

In my opinion the Novice Medic a must though. Meditate is more removing the need for a Doctor (ie wound & posion healing) & not the need for a Medic (healing on the move).

Going on your advice, I've had a re-jig of my template.

It always HAD to include TKM, but I wondered whether the defence of Pistoleer or Novice Medic was worth more, I think I found a compromise though:-

Novice Medic

Brawler 4000

Scout 4000

Master Marksman

BH 3000

Pistoleer 0030

Teras Kasi Master

This means more Defence vs Blind, Dizzy and Stun, pity about the KD defence, but at least you stand a chance of getting up again! It also gives some ranged mitigation to help with the gank squad taking pot shots at you. It leaves 1 SP unused.

Hehe - from a realism point of view, kneeling on the floor and meditating in the middle of fighting somebody 1 on 1... No probably not a good idea...

meditate is at its best at 4000, it can heal a bit faster at master, but it can heal wounds at 4000

Do you still need mediate 4 for mediate to work? I see it's now a nov tkm skill.

Can I just get tk-novice to have the benefit of mediate?

you can meditate at novice but you won't be able to heal wounds until you're at Meditate IV.
