Thread: How are the TKM's fairing these days? From a BH!

So how are you guys getting along in the CU?
Are you happy about the naked TKM revamp?
Who of you has dueled ranged folks in battle yet?
Always looking to see how the once most unreal uber proffession is fairing now!

Drall, panthers, etc on Talus at the moment. I take missions, but I usualy encounter so many wild spawns that I never get the missions done.

I still can solo a juve...NPCs are ok up to lvl 78...overall its still ok...

A: Viable both solo and in a group but to be honest, I'm bored. Other than clicking COB and Knockdown every 45 seconds, it's just armor break-hit-hit-hit-hit, lather, rinse, repeat. I know the uber-leet TKs pre-CU just doc-buffed and spammed UnarmedHit3 and KD all the time, but I didn't... I used ALL my specials and moves as the situation demanded. I miss having that scope and those options. I have no options now. There is only one thing to do at a time, and no thinking involved. This bores me. So I am getting along in terms of being able to do missions, but not in terms of fun or interest. Whether I will even continue to play this character (which is a second account) is an open question and looking increasingly doubtful every time I try to play her.
Q: Are you happy about the naked TKM revamp?
A: No, for the following reasons:
1. The animations suck. I look like a street brawler now instead of a graceful karate or tae-kwan-do champion. My character is a master TKA. She is (or should be) the equivalent of a blackbelt in a graceful and beautiful martial art, NOT a boxer. Yet all she does is box and sometimes kick people in the groin. How disappointing, especially knowing they have all those cool older animations just sitting in the database doing nothing.
2. It's boring. See the answer above.
I will say that I do like being able to go without armor, and that part was done well. But the lack of good animations and skill variety is just really disappointing and makes the class much less interesting and fun to play.
Q: Who of you has dueled ranged folks in battle yet?
A: I do not, under any circumstances except friendly duels with guildmates, engage in PVP, so I can't answer this one.

A: That'll depend on who is doing the answering. If you don't mind having to click the same 2 or 3 moves over and over, and having lackluster animations, I guess you might say we are faring well. If you do mind that your answer (as mine is) would be different.
Rather than them taking all our cool specials that most people thought weren't worth doing away, I'd have liked it if they had kept them and actually made them worth doing. But oh well... I am not the one who called the shots.
I like TKA conceptually, but to be honest I think the implementation is lackluster, uninspired, and boring.

I've fought ranged profs in PvP - if they can keep landing roots on you and running to range you have no chance - it will be a long fight for them though due to good innate armour and CoB. Best thing to do is get fencer x1xx and cripple strike them to slow them down, gives you a fighting chance!

I, myself, have dropped by beloved TKM because I didnthave the patience to re-learn it. I am glad to hear that it is still a viable profession. But I just have so much more fun now pulling out my ranged weapons and shooting what's on the tank. I hate this because I feel like I've betrayed my beloved profession. But my TK is about to become a padwan anyway so I may as well sever the cord. I do however, still have my meditate tree because I am not sure How I ever got along without that. But one thing is for sure. TK is a thing of my past.
