Thread: Possible System to Revamp TKM
The Prestige Ranking System: Teras Kasi Grandmaster
Overview
To give Teras Kasi more viable options beyond the current set of skill points and template goals, to help reduce the requirment of other melee professions to make TK viable to play by itself
The biggest issue that is faced with the implimentations of the CU and /respec system is FOTM is more rampent and unacceptable to not only the Teras Kasi but to the SWG community as a whole. the Purpose of the CU was to eliminate the desire for template stacking.. under the new system. Template stacking matters more than ever, TKM almost require another melee professions just to be enjoyable to some While this allows for some mix match game play. it mostly has created the Uber Template to recapture the feel of being TKM before the CU"
Instill a ranking system with it's own pro's and con's that can scale TKM to become true masters of unarmed fighting
Create an exclusive Prestige rank Teras Kasi Grandmaster, where it has a new set of pre requisit skills points i've entilted "Prestige Points" These prestige points could be earned via an unarmed xp conversion system similar to the FS xp grind. it would allow those who have no interest in the FS skill trees to still advance their characters and make use of all that banked unarmed xp.
Each of the Prestige trees would offer "bigger and better" advancement opportunities. Perhaps give seperate skill sets similar to FS trees. where there are 4 main areas that someone could dabble in and unlock 6 to earn the title of "Grandmaster"
Create Teras Kasi "Monistaries" where TKM can gather and hold Tournaments to earn more "Prestige Points" Pro to this is gaining more prestige for defeating a "ranked" opponent, Con? well loosing a duel encur's it's own negative "aka loss of rank standing" and thus loosing prestige points. Also have it to where there are stages to unlocking phase, where you have to compete so many times before you can unlock a new branch.
The Good and the Bad
Good: this would make the Teras Kasi profession more dynamic and possible more enjoyable for all the TKM's out there.. it would offer even further opportunites to advance their characters, and offer more content possibilities beyond the current limitations.
Bad: System would prolly be very hard to impliment (i am not a programmer)
Skill Tree Changes
This is a rough list of the possible prestige skills that could be required for MBH
Meditation:
.Specialized Meditation tree that increases the powers of the meditate ability, perhaps at it's most extreme level it reduces battle fatigue
Breathing Technique's
Increase the health regen while meditating
Power of the Spirit.
Increase the potency of Power boost to be more dramatic. and give increase up to perhaps 90% of current health total
Force of Will
Increase the potency and sucess of Force of will to an almost "no fail" condition, perhaps higher ranks in this tree could also lessen the timer on Force of Will
The Still mind
Make it to where an advanced form of meditate makes it to where a TK Grandmaster can not be attacked while meditating. con? can not exit the meditation till all wounds are healed. and have to be sitting still for 3 minutes before entering the state.
Grandmaster Conditioning
Specialized Conditioning tree that increases melee and defense bonuses.. also gives unique bonus to TK innate armor, perhaps even special defenses vs Force attacks
Center of Mastery
Give an advanced form of Center of Being that further decreases the dmg taken.. can also have an innate ability to be usuable regardless of moving or not
perhaps even put a Force Defense mod in this tree
Improved Innate Armor
tree that increases the gains to innate armor to be more progressive with the new armor types that will come down the line.
Melee Defense
pure melee defense mods.
Ranged Defense (same as above)
Grandmaster Power Techniques
Specialized Combat tree that offers more "improved" combat specials and greater unarmed accuracy and dmg
Speed of the Vractyl
increase the unarmed speed of the TKM
Teeth of the Krayt
Unarmed Damage pure and simple
Way of the Teras Kasi
Special Tree to include more of the "classic" attack animations that TKM so dearly love, goal of this tree is to return animations to the TKM community
Melee Flurry
General Melee speed increases
Grandmaster Percision Striking
Specialized Combat tree that offers more "improved" combat specials and greater unarmed accuracy and dmg
Goal of this skill set is to break up even more combat moves to keep in line with the other trees. perhaps this tree also includes special weapon and TKM specific armor (like robes, and clothing,) ideas are endless.
Note: these are all possible ideas, my thought was to offer some things that could be seen as making TKM (one of my most beloved professions) unique. and more desireable to play, I don't like that i feel i have to template stack to keep the TKM aspect of my playstyle enjoyable. and don't like the lack of content found in every profession. adding more heritage type quests and giving TKM a sense of identity would to loads to make it more enjoyable for me.
