It works if you're not wearing any armor.

yuppers just dont wear any any armor of any kind and innate armor will work no matter the weapon you are weilding

Really? no matter what weapon you are using?

As an FYI, there are certain items you can wear that are classified as armor even though they don't provide any protection to you. If you find yourself getting hit for a lot of damage and you just donned a helmet remove the helmet and see if the damage decreases.

Yep I wear a wookiee tree dweller's hood and smock and I have no problems. It is fun to fight without the chlothes though kindy nice to see a all natrual wookiee fighting and kicking butt lol

what is reccommended then and how do you determine what to wear, also does a vibro knuckler help tkm at all????

TKM's tend to not wear armor as the base statistics for Innate Armor is 6000 to all resists. In other words, you would need to get armor that provided significantly better resists to maintain an effective cost to benefit ratio. Note that if you PvP, you might consider getting a Personal Shield Generator (PSG) as they have no effect on Innate armor while raising your resist in the amount of the PSG (amount varies). TKM's can wear armor if they are certified, through another profession, and are willing to spend the cash on armor. VK's provide little benefit to a TKM as their unarmed damage would be much higher than vks.

As far as what to wear, wear whatever you like. Many people like robes. Personally I like to wear reinforced jacket, paramilitary pants, etc.

Bio Engineered cloths work, melee/ranged defensive clothing works to raise your defense even higher, but the best thing is the terrain negotiation/unarmed damage mods on some BE garments, to max out damage and get better abilties in running around, makes getting to the enemy faster, might be broken right now though not too sure, was a couple of days ago, get doc 4000 to help you out, healing always healing i say, still few listen to me, and then i see their corpses, so sad students never listen to the master until they fail and ask why
